[16 |, The South Marysburgh Mirror LIBRARY NOTES Jit, MILFORD LIBRARY BOOK CLUBS Second Tuesdays at pm If you are interested in joining us, Please call the co in. Jenn Kingma, who has been at the Ann Farwell branch for 3 years, will be going on maternity leave May 1". We know she will be missed, however, we also know that it’s an exciting time for Jenn and her family, and we wish her all the very best. During Jenn’s absence, I will be Branch Manager at Ann Farwell, working on Thursdays and Saturdays. Car- olyn Barnes will be at the library on Tuesdays, with Patti Stacey continuing to work Tuesday evenings. Both Car- olyn and I live in the community and are fortunate to al- ready know many of you. We look forward to meeting pa- trons we haven’t met yet, and seeing our friends and neighbours in the library as well. New things will be happening at Ann Farwell in the coming months, some of which are the result of infor- mation gathered during a recent focus group session. Much was leamed at the meeting and we those who took the time to come and share their thoughts on how we are doing and how we can improve library services. We hope to act in the near future upon suggestions made, in- cluding the need for more programs for boys 10 and under, and creating author displays. This month, we’ll begin by highlighting children’s author Judy Blume and celebrating her work on Saturday, May 17". Bring your favourite Judy Blume book and share with others why it’s your favourite. We'll read aloud from a couple of this author’s classics, and maybe from her new book, if it’s available. It’s entitled Cool Zone with the Pain and the Great One and due out this month. Drop by for the fun, and for a little “Fudge” and freckle juice, too! Please pre-register to help us plan, though drop-ins will be wel- come as well. On Saturday May 10", come by the library any- time between 10am and 2pm to create a pretty Mother’s Day card from recycled materials. And this Saturday, May 3™ at 10:30am, we will be planting a white pine seedling on the lawn of the Ann Farwell Branch in honour of Milford’s 200" anniversary. We hope you’ll join us. - Christine Renaud A goodbye message from Jenn: and presents, and I will keep you posted on when the big day happens.
