The Chapel is a charming heritage building in rural Prince Edward County, not far from the Black River Cheese Company. When you walk into this simple white frame struc- ture, you enter another time. Built around 1870 and refur- bished in 1908, it has changed very little since those early days. It even maintains its excellent acoustics. The Chapel has no electricity, running water or cen- tral heating. Sunlight streaming through patterned glass win- dows illuminates its interior by day, and when darkness comes oil lamps glow softly. In the heat of summer visitors cool themselves with old-fashioned paddle fans, and on win- try days and nights a woodstove provides warmth. It is a lovely reminder of the way things used to be. In our own homage to the aphorism that "A joy shared is twice a joy: a grief shared is half a grief", many in the 'Greater Milford Area’ reached out to Rus- sell McPeak and the family as they mourned. As one way of so doing, the "Sherry Fund" was established. It is a measure of how much Sherry became ‘one of our own' that a scroll containing seventy-nine names of those who contributed to the Sherry Fund is being sent to Russell honouring Sherry's memory. It continues the outpouring of feelings that be- gan as news of her death became real. Those who con- tributed to the Sherry fund raised $1,465.00, and that too has been sent to Russell as a further expression of our desire to be supportive in this time of sorrow. Now, as we get on with things, there is still talk of some memorial activity that may show fruit in the spring, perhaps somewhere on the Post Office property. As we look ahead to that, we say "Goodbye, Sherry". Many of us have been thinking of you and your family - Charles Vincent
