The South Marysburgh But | want a beer.. Recently the LCBO announced the expan- sion of the Agency Outlet Program that will see 20 new LCBO outlets created in rural, more remote, and tourist communities across Southern Ontario. Southern Prince Edward County was not included although they have received a petition organized by Hicks General Store with over 1000 signatures on it. While I have asked numerous times what the criteria is for being considered to get such a service, Thave yet to receive an answer. This is not about Hicks General Store get- ting the outlet franchise - though that would be nice - but rather just being considered to get the service closer than 42 km away if you live at Long Point. Some of the new outlet areas include Flesh- erton - 10 km. from Markdale LCBO, North Augus- ta - 10 km from Brockville and Merrickville LCBOs, and Princeton - 10 km from Woodstock LCBO. Perhaps it is because Long Point and much of the south end, including Athol and North Marysburgh have KOK 2T0 as their postal code and “Toronto” translates that as we all live in Picton! I don’t know but I want to know!! Council has agreed to send a letter of support requesting LCBO service for the south end. These letters will be going to: . Dave Caplan, Minister of Public Infra- structure Renewal - Philip Olsson, Acting Chair and CEO of the LCBO - Kevin Russell, Director, Retail Planning, LCBO If you are interested and could take the time to write a letter requesting the service, please con- tact me at 613-476-8045 or at malyea@pecounty.on.ca. I have additional infor- mation that you may wish to include in your letter.
