Since the date of organization good progress hus been made in gecuring suit- able club and recreation rooms. It is now the intention of the members to have these tooms comfortably and suitably furnished ro that all returned men may @ place where they may enjoy a pleasant evening together. Already the township of Flos, through the council have kindly contributed a donation in aid of the society. Collectors will visit the homes of the village and sur- rounding country to obtain further funds in order that nothing may be lacking for the comfort of those men who 60 willingly gave their services to their country. Fast Time at the Races Devotees of the race track were furnished with 4 programme of some of the best speed events seen in thie district for many s day at Elmvale on Lubor Day. Many Barrie people attended. All the races were keen contests, remarkably good time be- jing recorded, especially in the free-for-all, when several heats showed that the mile was done in 2.12%. VANCE, Chairman of Voters' Registration Board for the County of Simcoe: Tragic Death of Little Girt Helen Quail, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Quail, of lot 27. con: cession 5, Adjaia, aged 4 years and 10: monthe, was the victim of an accident on Saturday morning last which cost her life, and cast a pall of dexpair over the neighborhood in which the child's parents live.
