The Director of Education reviewed the System Objectives for 1978-79, noting the status of each objective. A11 Trustees are urged to attend the 1979 Thunder Bay Diocesan Separate School Trustees! Association Conference being held at the Avila Centre, Thunder Bay, March 10-11. The appointment of Mr. Lonnie Connelly, Grades 3-4, St. Martin School, Terrace Bay, effective January 3, 1979 was approved. The Board approved payment of $400.00 to the Nipigon-Red Rock Board of Education ins appreciation of their adninistra- tive costs with regard to the shared busing for this school year. In correspondence dated January 26th, 1979, from Graham, Bacon and Welter, it was noted that Gateway Building and Supply Limited have promised to perform the warranty work at the new St. Hilary School, within certain time frames. The Board's decision, therefore, was to release the holdback of $3,000.00 to Gateway Building and Supply Limited. With an increase in enrolment and parental support, a full day K/J-K Program has been implemented at St. Martin School, Terrace Bay. Last year, the Board had approved a full dzy program, if numbers warranted it. Board motions were carried: - That teacher-aides be paid on the scale equivalent to the school secretaries; - That the Custodian at Our Lady of Lourdes School, Manitou- wadge, be paid a flat monthly transportation allowance of $30.00 for mail pick-up and delivery and other travel as necessary, retroactive to July 1st, 1978; - That the Board accepts the rec ommendations of the Executive Committee for the salaries of the Executive Staff, effective January 1st, 1979.
