This is a reas- _onable turnout for their first appearance in Schreiber. The proceeds from the concert went to the arena/ community centre complex. Special thanks to Donna Mikaluk, Frank Hodder, Billie Jo Read and all others that baked food or assisted. SUMMER EMPLOYMENT: The recreation office will be making application for grants to operate summer programs. |f you are going to be looking for a summer position please come to the office and fill out the necessary forms. By doing this in no way gives nor guarantees you a job; it simply tells us you are interested in employment with the recreation office. MEN'S CURLING EXECUTIVE: The 1979 Men's Curling Executive consists of President = Milt Tames; Vice-President - Pat Halonen; Secretary-Treasurer Alex Krystia. Curling is now underway and if you wish to participate please contact the above persons. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE PROGRAMS: We have not received any further information concerning the Confederation College Programes; bricklaying, income tax work- shop, mixology, social and modern dancing and chinese cooking. Once we do receive more information we will notify you. Any- one interested in any of the following programs call the recreation office. CHILD DEVELOPMENT STUDIES: The initial thought of this program was to be a leisure type program. However, due to some reshuffling of programs at the Confederation College, it looks like this program will be a credit course. The recreation office will take names of people who are interested. ARENA/COMMUNI TY CENTRE UPDATE: The financial picture of this writing is Personal $63,065. ¥1; Payroll $11,793.00; Bingos $2,677.30; Actual Cash $77,535. 71; Pledges to come $40,480.00; Payroll to come $7,200.00. As many have seen the sign is now up indicating where the new arena/community centre is to be located. 4-WEEK PROGRAMS: This 4~-week program is for grade 3 up to grade 8. It in- volves activities such as volleyball, floor hockey, soccer, : basketball, gymnastic, etc. The first 4-week program starts this week. (a schedule will be handed out to the participants). First activities are floor hockey Tor grades 3 and 4 and voll- eyball for grade 5 to 8. There is no registration fee. This program will take place at the Public School gym, therefore, the students must wear proper gym clothing and footwear. GIRLS CRAFT PROGRAM: If any girls 8 years old to 12 years old who are interested in this program please give us your name at the recreation off- ice. MWe would like to know what the interest is. We are still looking for instructors and helpers. Without instructors we will not be able to go through with this program. If interested call the recreation office. CROSS~COUNTRY SKI CLINIC This clinic will be held February 2,13, and 4th. Deadline for registrations is Monday, January 29th, 1979.
