Rossianka appears for 43 Canadian centres in a whirlwinc 8 week tour. / Rossianka is a dazzling, whirling, non-stop entertainment presented by artists of the State including: 1. "Tseruli" - Georgian acrobatic dance quartet; 2. "Rhythm" - one of Mos- cow;s leading night 1ife instrumental ensembles; 3. Semyenova and Khokhlachev - dancers of the Moscow Folk Ballet; 4. Victor Azov - accordian virtuoso; 5. 0. Glukhov - balalaika wizard; 6. Kharitonov and Filimonova - Bolshoi folk ensemble vocalists. The formation of this ensemble was a result of a special re- quest for a major Russian group to tour smaller centres in Can- ada as well as large cities. The central unit of Rossianka is the Georgian dance quartet, "Tseruli", performing a myriad of frenzied dance segments with the traditional props and costumes - swords, drums, native dre- ss, and wild frenetic leaps across the stage. The main accompanying instrumental ensemble is "Rhythm" - a quartet who have worked together for many years on tour and on Soviet State television. "Rhythm" will accompany the vocalists, as well as the dancers where needed. Rossianka also includes singers Kharitonov and Filimonova, accordionist Azov, and balalaika virtuoso, Glukhov. Two world- celebrated dancers from the Moscow Folk Ballet, Semyenova and Khokhlachev will perform classic dances from Russia and from the Urals. They will, of course, participate throughout the show in the group scenes. Rossianka will feature a little of everything from the Russ- ian entertalmment scene today. This is a one-night performance in Terrace Bay sot. Jove. members......take notice. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Performance begins at 8 p.m. A bus will leave the Chimo Club in Schreiber at 7:15 p.m. and stops in at Birchwood Terrace for the Senior Citizens.
