ANDREW'S UNITED CHURCH WOMEN St. Andrew's United Church women met December 6th, with Beth Macadam presiding and thanking all members who had worked to make the Christmas tea and bazaar the success it was, gener- ous donations were made to our local Mental Retardation Associ- ation and the missionary fund. The next regular meeting will be on January 3rd. meeting closed with benediction. The HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE The regular meeting of Holy Angels Catholic Women's League was held on December 10th with Vice-President Marjory Spacek presiding in the absence of President Kay Stefurak. Mrs. Spacek thanked all the members who worked towards making the bazaar such a success, and asked for members to attend the annual presentation of gifts to Birchwood Terrace. A donation of $25.00 was given to Interlink, which sponsors Cathy's Handicraft Shop ® SNOW SHOES © LAWN CHAIRS ® PADDLES @ BEADING CRAFT ® LEATHER CRAFT @ GROCIERIES ® SOFT ICE CREAM @ SOFT DRINKS SPECIAL ORDERS TAKEN FOR ALL GOODS ON REQUEST "Church of the Air" on radio. - The raffle winners at the bazaar were Barbie Doll, Jodi Saarinen; Door Prize, Edith Birch; Poncho, Jason Shack, Novelty Cake, Helen Neilon, Fruit Cakes; Helen Stokes and Marj Spacek; Painting, Peter Costa. A pot luck supper will be held January 14th at 6 p.m. in the Parish Centre, for all members and their husbands. Those att- ending are asked to bring their own dishes and cultlery. A committee is being set up to complete arrangements. Father H. Bartofski spoke on the successful Mission just completed, and asked for volunteers to help with the Junior Choir. He wished all members a Joyous Christmas season. - The meeting adjourned and lunch was served by Mrs. |rene Moorey and her committee. 0" BRIEN: The funeral of the Tate Russell Lennox 0'Brien whose death occurred in Red Lake, Ontario was conducted in Holy Angels Church, Schreiber on December 18th, 1978 with Father H. Bartof- ski officiating. Pall bearers were Russell McBride, Lloyd McLellan, Edward Graham, Hobden Spikula, Clarence McBride, Kevin Mullins. Mr. O'Brien's immediate survivors are his sisters Catherine (Mrs. N. Lemieux) Schreiber; Carol (Mrs. D. McDonald) Markstay, Ont.; Lenore (Mrs. B. Duncan) Wawa; Sharon (Mrs. S. .Lif) Cochenour; Mary Lynne, Sault Ste. Marie. Predeceased by his Mother in 1973, Father in 1975 and broth- er Patrick in*1977. Born and attended schools in Schreiber, was employed by the Department of Highways and for the past five years had been em- ployed by the Friffith Mines, Red Lake, Ont. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. & Mrs. D. McDonald, Markstay; Mr. & Mrs. B. Duncan, Wawa; Mr. & Mrs. S. Lif, Cochenour; Mary Lynne O'Brien, Sault Ste. Marie; Mr. & Mrs. Leo Bryar, Marathon; Mr. & Mrs. Lorne McBride & Family, Mrs. F.
