VOL, 21 No. 38 NOVEMBER 15, 1978 25¢ PER COPY WISEWAY OPENS Wiseway Home and Building Centre opened its doors to the public on October 26 at 11 a.m. The grand opening began with a "ribbon cutting" ceremony perfomed by Reeve Cyril Brassard. The "ribbon" was actually a strip of lumber which the Reeve cut with a hand saw. Con= gratulation were extended by both the Reeve and Keith Penner, : Thunder Bay MPP. Free coffee and donuts were on hand as well as balloons and hot chocolate for the 'children, who also had the opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Snoopy. HOSPITAL AUXILIARY TOY SALE A SUCCESS _ An attractive variety of toys was displayed to shoppers in Costa's on Saturday afternoon. The Auxiliary thanks all who supported the hospital by pur- chasing toys and really appreciates the generous donations of toys handmade by local residents. Many toys were sold but if you missed the sale, some are still available from the gift cart. = The lucky winners were Charlene Yates (Barbie Doll Set) and L. Desaulniers (Teddy Bear). Mr. Donald Ross has kindly consented to speak at our next meeting on Monday, November 20th in St. Martins School. The subject of the address will be "The Auxiliary's Role in Hos- pital Life". We extend an invitation to all members to att- end this meeting. If you recently bought an auxiliary membership card, you are a member and welcome at all our meetings. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month and alternate between Schreiber and Terrace Bay. TERRACE BAY LADIES CURLING CLUB NEWS Regular curling for ladies will begin on Tuesday, 21st of November and Thursday 23rd November. The 14th and 16th will be open for teaching and practice, so come out and start throwing those rdcks! Draws are almost completed with twelve teams for Tuesdays and eight for Thursdays. Thursday night skips will be con- tacted shortly to pick from the hat for their teams. _ Congratu ations and thanks to Janice Wilson for the well- planned Funspiel held las* Thursday. Everyone enjoyed, the evening although maybe 1.e ice was a smidge heavy! First prize went to |da Romanuk's rink of Julie Randa, Barb Spadoni Terry Paukstys; Second to Dene Clancy's rink of Pat Fenton, Linda Pelto, Linda Lemieux; Third to Joan Bertin's rink of Liz McLeod, Cheryl Dejonghe, Bonnie 0'Neill.
