4OVEMBER 8, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 19 SCHREIBER TO RELEASE PLAYERS The Schreiber Minor Hockey Association would like to announ- ce that the Association has folded because there are no ice facilities available in Schreiber. The Association has agreed to release all hockey players from 5 years of age to 14 years of age as of December 31, 1978. Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association has agreed to accept all of these players. : The price per team will be: $24.00 per family for recreation novice and atoms extra $10. to TBMH; peewees and bantoms extra $15. to TBMH. As soon as possible, Schreiber Minor Hockey equipment borr- owed last year should be returned to Pat Halonen, 404 Ontario Street. Note: The Schreiber Midget practices will be held Monday and Wednesday at 11 p.m. and 12: 30 a.m. -The first practice will be held Wednesday, November 8th." We wish all the Players the best of luck for the 1978-79 hockey season. AUXILIARY HOLDS FALL TEA A Fall tea was held by Pinewood-Birchwood Auxiliary in the Recreation Room of Birchwood Terrace on Saturday afternoon, October 28th. Flowers centred the individual tea tables as Peggy Thompson and her Committee of Blanche Speck, Beth Maca- Hilma Huuhka and John Ockert. dam, May Dorland, Estelle Wallwin, Betty Usher and Lil Harris served the steady crowd of residents and guests as they mingl=- ed over their tea cups. The door prize, a gift from vegharn! s Pharmacy, was won by Mps. Rita Corrigan and a beautifully decorated cake, donated by Faye Figliomeni, was won by Mrs. Eva Haughn. Bi rchwood Terrace was a hive of activity Thursday evening, November 2nd, as the Home's Auxiliary held another Games Night. Many residents and non-residents competed over Shuffleboard, while Rummoli enthusiasts rivaled for their spoils of the game and many others ro*ated at tables of whist, cribbage or bridge. Winners were: Shuffleboard - "A" Event, Bertha Lohe and Exilda Kopas; runner-up, Marie and Jane Legarde; "B" Event, Cribbage "A" Event, Peggy Thompson, Eva Dolter; Low, Rhoda Cummings. Whist High - Georgina Mackey, Low = Skip Davies. The door prize was wo. by Mrs. Rhoda Cummings, a new comer to Birchwood Terrace. Refreshments were served as the games concluded by Lil Harris, Estelle Wallwin and Mina Mahoney. Conveners were May Dorland and Gertrude Cotton.
