To the Citizens of Schreiber, | thank you very much for the privilege and honour of serving you these past many years. Those who serve on Council do not expect praise or glory. The honour comes from the hard work and dedication you put in4 to your own efforts. My greatest consolation comes from my own belief that did serve you all with honesty, a lot of energy and dedica- tion. | include the citizens of Terrace Bay in my thanks, be- cause of my many meetings with your Council and to those of you over the years that have personally given encouragement to me and have thanked me for my efforts. COUNCIL QUOTES The regular meeting of the Council of the Township of Terrace Bay was held on Tuesday, October 10th at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Present were Reeve C. Brassard, Councillors M. Hamil- ton, K. MacLeod and P. Romanuk, Clerk Co-ordinator W. Hanley and M. Simmer. : Minutes of the previous regular meeting of September 25th and special meetings of October 4th and Sth were adopted as present- ed. i George Ramsay will attend the meeting on Children's Services on October 20th in Thunder Bay in place of Marj Hamilton. The Girl Guides have been given permission to conduct a Halloween Candy Blitz on October 17th and 18th. "The Ministry of Environment has advised that it will extend $3,000.00 toward the new landfill site. Constable James Chisholm has been promoted to first class constable, effective November 1st. Catarina Gallenberger has been appointed to the Terrace Bay Planning Committee, replacing G.L. Puttock. A resolution was passed stating that only municipal staff are able to disconnect or reconnect water, and the work will be done at a flat rate charge of $25.00 paid in advance. Council received a note of thanks from Lieutenant-Governor Pauline McGibbon for the dinner held at Birchwood Terrace in her honour, = The Kinette Club of Terrace Bay has invited Marj Hamilton to represent Council at their Fall Zone Rally on October 21st. Kimberly-Clark has been permitted to locate house trailers in the Terrace Heights Subdivision for approximately nine months.
