Mrs. Clemens read a paper on Education and Cultural . Affairs. She also reported on the area convention she's at- tended in Dryden in September. With great regret, members accepted her resignation as secretary = she and her husband are leaving shortly for a new home in Southern Ontario. Mrs. Ann Todesco agreed to take over the position. CATHOLIC WOMAN'S LEAGUE MEETING: President Kay Stefurak welcomed Father H. Bartofski, Holy Angels Church new parish priest, at the September meeting of the Catholic Women's League held in the Parish Centre. Rita McGrath read a passage from the Scripture. Minutes of the last meeting and executive meeting were adopted as read read by Phyllis McParland. | rene:.Borutski, corresponding secretary read several thank you cards and letters from the family in India which this C.W.Le has supported for years. Cathy Lemieux gave the treasurer's report. Mrs. Stefurak thanked all the members whose work had made the Labour Day event so successful = especially mentioning Rita Scott and her sister Mary Fummerton. It was announced the Bishop will be in Schreiber on Oct. 22nd to confer confi mation and following the service a reception will be held in the Parish Centre. The Christmas Bazaar was set with Betty Huard as Kitchen convener and Penny Caccamo, Bazaar convener. Gloria Mullins reported there are now 114 paid up members. It was decided to purchase new drapes for the Parish Centre and to send farewell gifts to Emilienne St. Jean, Margaret Walsh, Lila Morrow and Lise Jamieson, all former mem -bers who have moved away from Schreiber. Father Bartofski gave a Jengthy talk on his plans for the parish and his willingness to help in every possible way. N, Norris, local recreation director, will be the guest speaker at the October meeting. Lunch was served by Rose Speziale's committee. ROSSPORT SOCIAL: Jason |ddison celebrated his sixth birthday on Tuesday when he invited his playmates in during the evening to help eat his decorated birthday cake and ice cream. A few games were played by Cecilia, April, Gertrude and Emily Schroeder, Jennifer |ddison, Andy and Samantha Joiner. Jason was the recipient of several gifts. Pat McKenna was the lucky winner of the Rossport Water Association's draw. The money raised is to help up-date the main water line. Isadore Ray has returned home after a three week course for section foreman of the CPR.
