Wt ma a . i AUXILIARY TO THE [lcCAUSLAND HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERS, VISITORS AND SPECIAL EVENTS At our final dinner meeting in June the Auxiliary showed appreciation to two very special volunteers: Mrs. Ursula Wills and Mrs, Margaret Tees. Mrs. Gander aptly thanked these women who have spert countless hours knitting for the hospi- tal Tuck Shop. - We were also pleased to welcome our new Director of Nurs- ing: Mrs. Jeaneen Sawyer and guest speaker, Mrs. Kearney, Regional Chairman of the Hospital Auxiliary Association of Ontario. This fall our opening meeting was held on September 18th at St. Martin School. New business such as the Card Party; Wooden Toy Sale; Volunteer Services and visitation to Marathon were discussed. As a fund-raising event the Auxiliary finalized plans on a card party (with lunch and prizes) on October 5th. It is to be held in the Community Church basement and everyone is cor- dially invited. Later in the month a Wooden Toy Sale will be held at Costa's. This will be a wonderful chance to buy creative and durable toys for special gifts. Corrie Haas has agreed to co-ordinate Volunteer Services. This area has become very active and our thanks go out to the many women who volunteer at the hospital knitting or crocheting; making tray favours; visiting or managing in the Tuck Shop; or acting as drivers or translators for patients : who need such assistance. The Marathon Hospital Auxiliary has invited our organiza- tion to tour their hospital and Tuck Shop. This should be helpful in the planning of our new facilities. A delegation will travel to Marathon on October 3rd. : Our next Auxiliary meeting will be held in Schreiber - (High School Library) on October 16th at 8:00 p.m. All members are warmly welcomed.
