.- SEPTEMBER 27, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 13 COE -- NICOL VOWS EXCHANGED In a double ring ceremony, Marcia Mary Nicol and Graham James Coe were united in Marriage by Father Murtagh at St. Martin Church on Saturday, August 26th at 4 p.m. The Bride is the daughter of Mrs. Irnen Nicol and the late Melvin J, Nicol, and the Groom is the son of Mr. Harry Coe, of Thunder Bay and the late Dorine Coe. Pat McDonald, Patti Abraham and Tim Killham, accompanied by guitar sang for the wedding ceremony. The Church was decorated with white daisies. The Bride was given in marriage by her mother. The Bride wore a white empire gown of nylon over taffeta, featuring small lace, mutton sleeves and a flaunced hem line carried into a train. Her veil was waist-length and she carried a bouquet of gold and rust mums. Peggy Klug, of Terrace Bay, was Maid of Honour and Karen Nicol, sister of the Bride, was the Bridesmaid. Both atten- dants wore floor length gowns of silk jersey in deep peach, *' tyled in a blouson fashion with cap sleeves. They carried hand bouquets of mums matching the Brides. Mums of identical colour were worn to one sice in their hair. Ralph Coe, brother of the Groom, was Best Man, and Ken Martinsen of Schreiber was the Usher. The Groom and atten- dants wore black tuxedoes with white sild shirts. The Bride's mother wore a floor length gown of silk knit, with an empire waist and princess lines, in a deep gold with an avocado leaf design accented with a corsage of yellow tea roses. The reception and dance was held in the Royal Canadian Le- gion Hall in Terrace Bay. During the dinner a toast to the Bride was proposed by Mr. Roland Sinotte. Dinner was followed by dancing to the music of Party Sound, The Bride and Groom, left for a honeymoon and on their re- turn are residing at 104 Laurier Avenue, Terrace Bay. Out of town guests at the wedding included relatives and friends from Toronto, Ottawa, London, Thunder Bay, Neys Pro- vincial Park and Schreiber. A Tittle on the existing arena, if this facility was to open there would have to be $245,200 spent for structural repairs and an additional $100,000 plus for fire regulations. RINGETTE WALK-A-THON: : The Schreiber Ringette League has cancelled the walk-a-thon scheduled for October 8, 1978. FITNESS TRAIL: This project is another step closer, with a meeting held to layout preliminary routes on the prospective area. [tis hoped some work will begin on this fall. Further development of the area will continue inthe Spring, and days ahead. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE: Programs offered through the college are being registered for now at the office. Persons indicating interest will be receiving additional data on courses they are interested in for the Winter. BASEBALL TOURNAMENT RESULTS: On September 9, the Minor Baseball League held a 1st Annual Tournament, in Schreiber. Results are: 1st game - Schreiber 11 - Terrace Bay 7; 2nd gare - Nipigon 15 - Mani tou -wadge 14; Consolation Game - Manitouwadge 18 - Terrace Bay 8; Championship Game - Schreiber 21 - Nipigon 16. RUN FOR FUN: The first annual Fun For Fun was held on Sept. 16, 1978 from Terrace Bay to Schreiber, a distance of ten miles. Sixteen people registered and fourteen finished the course at the Tennis Courts. All entrants were enthusiastic and will receive T-shirts. This will become an annual affair. SOCCER NEWS: On Saturday, ,the Lake Superior High School Soccer Team competed in the Manitouwadge Invitational Tournament. In the first game, Lake Superior defeated Hornepayne 4 - 0. Paul Barry scored two goals and Brad Bertin and Pat Moher one goal each. In the semi-final game Lake Superior lost to Manitouwadge 2 - 1 on a penalty kick with less than one minute left in the game. Paul Barry scored the goal. On Friday and Saturday the team competes in the Eronpiondip at Geraldton.
