AUGUST 16, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 Schreiber Parks and Recreation EXPERIENCE '78 - PROGRAM 0701 There was an overnight camping trip taken on August 14th and on August 11th a bike trip to Hayes Lake, where the peop- le relaxed a hit to do some fishing. The program finishes on August 18th, with the summer be- ing successful for-the initial year. This program is expected to be run again next year and to be bigger and better. WILDERNESS - YOUNG CANADA WORKS Last week a three day camping trip brought this program to a close for some ten young outdoor enthusiasts. The persons going through this years program will receive a crest indicating the basic level completed. contact person for information on the organization of a Beaver Pack for boys aged 4 - 6 years. Once this data is received the next steps will be taken in order to get the program moving. CONFEDERATION COLLEGE Programs offered through the college will be run in Schrei- ber for 1978-79. Tenative months have been established for most programs and the college will publish a list of programs and dates, times, place, instructor in the next few weeks. Some requested programs such as judo, upholstry, are 'taking addi tional time because of trying to locate instructors. SPORTS TRAVELCADE A Ringette Tournament will be held on Sept. 9 - 11th in Continued page 10 ... Through out the winter, plans will be made for the next level and more study on the basic catagory. RECREATION SURVEY - YOUNG CANADA WORKS Survey forms are still being passed out and coll- ected by the three girls working on the project. The return rate is re- maining around 60% which is very good. Information from the forms will be documented and 'made public. Again, the data on the forms is very interesting and will give us a clearer path on which to travel. | just remind you that all will not be done over- night and other suggestions will require study and con- siderable planning. COMMUNITY TENNIS TOURNAMENT : The senior tournament will be held August 19th if all are available. MINOR BASEBALL The Railway Division baseball team is still practising in anticipation of a tournament in. Terrace Bay in late August.
