PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS JULY 26, 1978 SENIOR CITIZENS' WEEK EVENTS The week was opened on Monday, June 12th with a bus trip for the residents, making a stop at the Rossport Inn where to their choice they were served afternoon tea in the dining room or a cool refreshment in the beverage room. Tuesday the Terrace Bay Kinettes sponsored a Bingo in the recreation room of the home. Wednesday Birchwood entertained the Chimo Club' of Schreib- er and Terrace Bay Senior citizens. The afternoon was spent visiting and playing various games. |t was wound up by an outstanding buffet dinner served by the Heads of Staff. Everyone agreed that Leon outdid himself and many admitted to overeating but went away happy. Thursday, the Township of Terrace Bay entertained all Senior Citizens of the community at the Legion Hall. Bi rchwood residents were in attendance along with sixteen visitors from Pinewood court who came down especially for this event. Al though this annual occasion has always been a highlight in the week, all of our residents agreed to it being the best yet. : Friday wound up a very busy week with a wine and cheese party in the lounge. MOOSE BINGO The Loyal Order of Moose will sponsor Bingo on Thursday, July 27th at 8 p.m. in the Moose Hall, Terrace Bay. Mr. Jim Joy of the Ministry of Culture and Recreation, Physical Fitness division, was in Terrace Bay recently and met with re -presentatives from both the community and industry to initiate this programme. Further details will be forthcoming in the near future. TENNIS TOURNAMENT: - Tennis tournament registrations will be received up until Friday, August 4th. Registration may be made by entering your name on the list which is on the bulletin board at the tennis courts. This tournament is restricted to Tennis Club members only and nayone wishing to obtain a Tennis Club mem- bership may do so at the Recreation Office or through Albert Cadieux. TERRACE BAY SOCIAL: Doctor Brock Kirkpatrick of Toronto with wife Janet and children Kent, Stephen and Nicole were recent visi- tors of their parents, Bill and Dodie Kirkpatrick of Terrace Bay, en route to the Calgary Stampede.
