PAGE 12 TERRACE BAY NEWS JULY-19, 1978 LOCAL GIRLS HONOURED AT SHOWERS DIMMERY ~- Sussan Dimmery was honored at a community shower-tea held in: St. Andrew's United Church Hall on June 30th. Receiv- ing with her were her sister, Debbie Dimmery, her mother Mrs. Henry Dimmery and her fiance's mother, Mrs. Norma Fummerton. Mrs. Sheila Glad and the servitors were the Misses Betty Ann McKenna, Debbie Bourguignon, Sandra Bourguignon, Holly Smith, Terry Lynn Birch and Ann Stokes. Mesdames Len Hiller, Walter Zaporzan, |van Johnson and Jack Anderson replenished. The Tov -ely gifts were opened by Pauline Bourrie,-Jolene Zaporzan and Pam Glad and Leigh Ann Campbell attended the guest register. RICHARDSON - Sandra Richardson was given a community shower on July 9th in the United Church hall, when her mother, Mrs. Avila Richardson, her fiance's mother Mrs. Ruth Mulligan and Miss Melody Fisher received with her. The tea table hostess was Mrs. Joan Clongram, and the servitors were Lori McBride, Karen Zaporzan, Darlene Parent, Wendy Ray, Mary-Jo Ryan, Michelle Bedard, Susanne Gionet and Diane Fisher. Mesdames Nova McBride, Nora Richardson, Mina Duggan and Jean Fisher replenished. The gifts were opened by Cathy Mulligan and Bonnie Major and Daryl Richardson and Donna Richardson attend- ed the guest book. Among. those attending the occasion from out of town were Mrs. Jack McCuaig of Weston, Ont. and Mrs. Gels McCuaig of Thunder Bay. VENEZIANO = Adriana Veneziano bride-elect of this month, was honoured at a community shower-tea, on July 9th in the Catholic Parish Centre. Receiving with her were Mrs. Frank Veneziano, her mother; Mrs. Maria Aiuto of Calgary, her fiance's mother; - and Mrs. Frank Diano, her aunt. Mrs. Rosetta Diano was the table hostess and the servitors were Mesdames Josephine Commi sso, Sylvia Figliomeni, Rosann Pellagrino, Teresa Trichilo and Rosemary Alfarcano, with the Misses:Tina Cebrario, Julie Speziale, Sandra Commisso, [da Commisso, Elena Speziale and Gerry Commisso. Pouring tea were mesdames Gina Commisso, Victoria Speziale, Sarah Figliomeni and Mary Costa. .Mesdames Stella Speziale, Rosa Speziale, Tina Speziale and Laura Costa replenished. The gifts were opened by Mary Diano, Maria Speziale and Angela Crupi with Josephine Diano and Luciano Trichilo attending the guest book. DOUBLE RING CEREMONY UNITES COUPLE Sty Berchman's Roman Catholic Church at Rossport was. the scene for a pretty summer wedding when Rev. Father Meyer united in marriage Anna Bain and Albert Ray on Saturday, June 24th at 2.80 p.m. in a double ring ceremony. +The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.H. Bain and the groom is the youngest son of Mr, and Mrs. Isadore Ray, all of Rossport. Blue and white carnations and fern decorated the altar and sanctuary with the guest pews marked by whité--and blue ribbons. Miss Cathy Gerow presided at the organ and the soloist was Mrs. Patricia Campbell. The bride given in marriage by her father wore a white jac- quard polyester satin gown on princess lines and-teng sleeves with a round neckline. Her floor length veil of silk net had a long train and was gathered on the head with clusters of white flowers and seed pearls. She wore white kid sandals and carried a cascade bouquet of red voses tied with white satin ribbon and wore the groom's gift of a strand of pearls. The bride's gown was made by her aunt, Mrs. Gwen Gerow. Viana Bain, sister of the bride was Matron of Honour and Evelyn Schroeder was the Bride's maid. Both of the attendants wore floor length gowns of light blue inter Tocked polyester knit with sweetheart neckline and a short sleeved jacket tied at the waistline. White low heeled sandals and blue wedding hats of olelin fibres trimmed with white bows on the side and carried nosegays of white and blue daisies tied with white satin bows. They wore the brides gift of gold lockets with their birthstones in it. The bride's youngest sister, Lisa was the flower girl. She carried white basket of white and blue daisies. Lisa followed the bridal color theme and wore a floor length gown of bluc ~olyester voile trimmed with white lace and white shoes. Earl Gerow was the ring bearer - cousin of the bride. He carried a white pillow made of the same material as the bride's gown. : Brian Ray, brother of the groom and Wilbour®Bain, brother of the bride attended the groom. The ushers were Darcy and Narcius Bain, brothers of the bride. The bride's mother chose a long sleeved red and gray brocaded polyester satin gown, floor length on princess lines complemented with gold chair jewelery and headband matching the dress and white shoes and wore a corsage of white carna- tions. The groom's mother chose a aquamarine blue long sleev- ed and floor length gown made of silk jersey on princess lines and wore silver and blue jewelery and white shoes and white carnation corsage. A reception was held in the community hall with Madames Jack Campbell and Lester Legault and Miss Devona Leisander hostesses. The hall was decorated with white and blue streamers and white bells. The head table was centered with a centerpiece of blue and white carnations and white candles. Brian Ray proposed the toast to the happy couple and the groom responded. Dancing followed with music by Glen Martin, Joe Esquega, Patsey Campbell and Dave Mushquash on the piano, violin and guitars. Mr. and Mrs. Ray will reside in Rossport. Before their marriage the bride was entertained by a community shower and the groom at a stag party. Included in the out of town guests were Mr. & Mrs. Paddy Risk, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Tookeney, Mr. & Mrs. S. Bouchard, Mr. & Mrs. L. Berube, Mr. & Mrs. John Ray, Mr. & Mrs. Ron Lanigan, 'Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Risk & daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Esqueba Misses Paulette & Denise Auger of Nipigon; Mr. & Mrs. John Peebles, Mr. & Mrs. John Clement & Family of Balmertown; Mrs. M. Wesley of Red Rock, Peter, Tracy, Maureen Pugh, Jolene Spoljarich of Thunder Bay; Glen Martin & D'Arcy of Winnipeg; Mr. & Mrs. Donny Ray, Mr. & Mrs. Rene Bedard, of Schreiber; Mr. & Mrs. Leo Legault, Mr. & Mrs. Lester Legault, Mr. & Mrs. Cyril Brassard, Peter Karpuk of Terrace Bay. The bridal couple had the unique honour of having four generations at the wedding, Great Grandmother Nanette Moses who is 98, Grandmother Mrs. Adelaide Martin, her mother; Mrs. Gail Bain and of course the bride.
