Mr, Danny O'Mara, Assistant to the Administrator, was authorized to attend a McMaster Seminar from May 27th to June 1st, 1978, all expenses paid. This is part of the Corres- pondence Course that he is taking at McMaster University. Mr. Milton J, Vibert, Administrator, informed the Board of the upcoming Regional Meeting to be held in Fort Frances this year and any Resolutions for the Annual Meeting to be held in September will be dealth with at this meeting, The Board is primarily interested in receiving some relief for the Residen- tial Care Resident who must pay the full Per Diem Rate. He also reported that the decision of the Labour Relations Board ciated and it was also suggested to the Administrator that it be carried out during Senior Citizens Week. Communications had been received from Longlac that Mr. Thomas Beaton was elected to fill out the term of Mr. Don Rice, who recently resigned from the Board. Mr. Beaton was unabl to attend the meeting due to other commitments. ? . At the close of the meeting the Chaiman explained that he had completed his two years as Chariman and how much he had enjoyed the work. He also advised that at the Inaugural Meeting there will be a new Chairman appointed. meeting held in Toronto on Feb, 29th, 1978 has not been re- ceived. The inaugural meeting of the Board will be held on April 28, at Pinewood Court. - At the Annual Meeting, the Chairman, Mr, Alex Daneff, re- viewed the work of the Board which was carried on during the year in both Homes. The major projects were carpets installed in the hall and lounge areas of Bi rchwood Terrace, paving and a sauna at Pinewood Court. He also outlined the plans for 1978 which includes a suite for couples at Pinewood Court, con- version of the remainder four bedroom wards and an office at the kitchen in Birchwood Ter- race, together with a sitting room and a patio on the second floor of Birchwood Terrace. Mr. Daneff explained that these pro -jects had not received the ap- proval from our Ministry but that it was expected shortly. Following the Chairman's re- port each Board Member comment- ed on the past years work after which the Municipal Representa- tives were requested to ques- tion the Board and the Adminis- trator. One of the suggestions that came from the Marathon Represen ~tative was that Senior Citizens] groups from the different towns be invited to visit Birchwood Terrace, The suggestion was that the Municipality in all likelihood would sponser the bus trip to the Home for the - day.
