FEBRUARY 15, 1978 TERRACE BAY NEWS : PAGE 19 TODAY'S CHILD BY HELEN ALLEN : "THE TORONTO S1)}] SYNDICATE Joey is a lovable, cuddly baby, 19 months old. He has brown hair, fair skin and dark eyes with droopy eyelids. The droopiness makes him look sleepy but does not affect his vision and can be surgically corrected when he is older. Joey was very sickly as a tiny infant and was in and out of hospital. He is in fair health now, except for susceptibility to chest infections. He has been in hospital four times in the past year and intermittent attacks are expected to continue. However, doctors: do not forecast that he will develop asth- ma. : : Joey's development is below average and it is felt he may be a slow child. But it is hard to assess his ability because of all his illness and the fact that he has lacked the stimulation a baby gets in a family where he is all-important. : This baby needs a mother and father who will not be fearful of his chest problems and who will give him much attention along with their love. Because he is so susceptible to infection he will do best in a small family without a lot of people coming and going. To inquire about adopting Joey, please write to Today's Child, Ministry of Community & Social Services, Box 888, Station K, Toronto M4P 2H2. In your letter tell something of your present family and your way of life.
