The meeting was called to order by Chairman A. Se Gordon at 10 10, The minutes of the regular meeting No, 11/77 held on Decem- ber 12th and the Inaugural Meeting No. 2/78 held on January Sth, were adopted. The minutes of the French Language Advisory Committee Meet- ing held on December 5th and the'minutes of the Administrative Council-Board Liaison Committee Meeting No, 1/77-78 held January 10th, were acknowledged as received. The list of disbursements in the total amount of $395,139,98 for the month of December, 1977, were approved. The Board approved the appointment of Mr, Anthony Bacenas as Guidance and Level 2 Math Teacher at Marathon High School, at salary according to schedule effective January 23, 1978. Graham Bacon Welter, Architects and Consulting Engineer will be engaged to prepare plans and drawings for the Manitouwadge Public School renovations | Memberships for 1978 was approved for the following Trus- tees! Associations: - Northern Ontario Public & Secondary School Trustees! Association, - Affiliation with The Chtario School Trustees! Association, - Ontario Separate School Trustees! Association. AT1 regular Board meetings were approved to be held in Marathon throughout the year. The Board approved the reinstitution of the Marathon Public School Swimming program for the calendar year 1978 for Grades 3, 4, and 5, Trustee Mo Reid will be attending the NeOsPeSeSeTsho!s Commission on Declining Enrolment meeting to be held in Thun- der Bay on February 4, 1978, Renewal was approved for the subscription to Ontario Educa- tion magazine. ~All regular Board meetings will be held in Marathon through- out the years The next regular meeting of the Board will be on Saturday, February 18, 1978 in Marathon at 10 00, CROSS COUNTRY SKI CLINIC: (scheduled for Terrace Bay) To those who are interested in taking the Ski Clinic which is scheduled to start this Friday at 7 PM, in the large Meet- ing Room ~ YOU MUST REGISTER AT THE RECREATION OFFICE AND BY ~ NOON THURSDAY, February 2nd, A minimum of 10 registrations _ are required otherwise the Clinic will be cancelleds Instruc-~ tion will be through Fresh Air Experience (Confederation Col- lege) - registration fee ¥s $12.00 if you have your own equip- ment and $20.00 if you require equipment. .
