PAGE 16 TERRACE BAY NEWS Ruby Rebekah Lodge Meeting: Ruby Rebekah Lodge 279 held their regular meeting with Mrs. Georgina Davis N.G. and Mrs. Winnie Clemens V.G. presiding. Mrs. W. Clemens reported for the Sick and Visiting Committee - cards sent and visits made to ill or bereaved members. Mrs. M. Slater reported on the District meet -ing held in July in Thunder Bay, which she and Mrs. Clemens attended with the D.D.P. Mrs. Loretta Sinclair presiding. Mrs. Helen Wallace reported on the U.N. Pil- grimage for Youth luncheon held on July 12th, for the bus load of forty-five young people en route to the United Nations. Invitations were received from Topaz and Agate Lodges to attend special functions. A banquet honouring Mrs. Constance Humby Warden of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario will be held in St. Pauls United Church, Thunder Bay at 6:15 p.m., September 27th. Anyone wishing to attend contact the Committee by September loth. Mrs. Clemens gave an interesting and detail- ed report of her attendance at the Assembly Sessions in Toronto in June. Members are asked to bring items for a Bring and Buy Table following the Lodge Meeting on September 28th. A pot luck lunch will follow. Installation of new officers will be held on October 12th. Jim Sykes of Toronto holidayed. with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Iddison this week. Mrs. Ibey of Kenora renewed acquaintances here during the week, having been a resident here before taking up residence in Kenora. Mr. and Mrs. John Bussie of Thunder Bay were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herb.Legault. Mr. and Mrs. Nick Bain and children visited relatives in Winnipeg during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schelling have left for a holiday in Duluth. : Mrs. Eileen Rouble visited relatives in Thunder Bay this week. - The heavy rains and windstorms raging in from the south caused damage to boats anchored or ones moored at docks. The waves roared over docks, sometimes practically swamping boats. They kept breaking their mooring lines and waves would flow over the outboard motors.
