SCHOOL NEWS SCHOOL OPENING: A Professional Activity Day was held on the first day of school at Lake Superior High. A General Staff Meeting was held in the morning followed by Orientation of new staff members. : The Department Heads met early in the. after -noon followed by' individual Department meet- ings. On Wednesday, students met in their Home- room classes to receive handbooks, timetables, etc. Regular classes were held for the rem- ainder of the day. Two hundred and forty-five (245) students enrolled at the Terrace Bay Campus and one hundred and seventy-one (171) at the Schreiber campus . C.W.L. TERRACE BAY MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Catholic Women's League was held on Sunday, -September llth with Mrs. Lillian Belliveau, president, -chair- ing the meeting. The meeting was opened with the League Prayer and Prayer to Holy Father. The Rosary intention was for vocations and peace in the world. Church Life, Mrs. C. Haas, gave a short talk on the Chasismatic Movement and belief in the Holy Spirit. This was followed by a short Prayer concerning humility. * Minutes of previous meeting were given. and the Treasurer's report read. Last June was a busy month for the C.W.L. a film on teenage drinking called "The First Step" was shown. Thank you to Kathleen Mikkonen for looking after the luncheon. ' A Reception was held for Father Tony Fujarczuk, where he was presented with gifts. Thank you A Clothing Drive was held for the Red Lake Indian Mission. Fifty-five boxes were collect -ed, parcelled and delivered by Lakehead Freightways. Thank you to Rose Dakin, Lillian Belliveau and Claire Roen for working on it. . Graduation Pins were given to the graduating class of St. Martin Separate School. A Penny Auction will be held in October. This is a Parish Project and will need good advertising.
