NO. 3T AUGUST I7, I977 ; 20¢ PER COPY Construction Safety Association of Ontario A special Eye Protection Seminar has been arranged for construction workers employed by Montreal Engineering on the large Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill Project, Terrace Bay. The Seminar, designed to provide eye injury information, will be held at the Moose Hall, South Camp Road, Terrace Bay, Ontario on Wednesday, August 17, 1977 at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Northwestern Ontario Regional Labour-Management Safety Committee and the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, this Semin- ar will detail the causes of eye injuries on construction sites and the proper eye protection and safe work practices which will reduce severe eye injuries. A panel made up of Peter Mazurski, Ministry of Labour; Gerry Veliveau, Montreal Engineering; Bert Lindgren, Safety Committee member; and Duncan McAlister, Cornistruction Safety Association of Ontario; will be moderated by Herb Fulton, Safety Committee Secretary. In Ontario there were 978 severe eye injuries to construction workers in 1976. The majority of these injuries could have been prevented through the use of proper eye protection. "= The Northwestern Ontario Regional Labour-Management Safety Committee was formed in 1970 and is one of 11 regional groups in Ontario with equal representation of senior labour and management who work together and with the Construction Safety Association of Ontario to reduce construction site injuries.
