Cindy Ray and Paulette Perras were judged as princesses in the event. The judges were Mrs. Dorothy Rummery, Albert Costa and Mrs. Inex McCuaig. Others entering the contest were Maxine Zhola of Minneapolis and Cindy Ray of Schreiber. The event was held in the Lake Superior Hidh School - Schreiber campus. The contestants first paraded before the full-house, then gave a short speech on their background and ambi- tions and then changed into beautiful Indian dress. The judges task was difficult. Leo Tookenay, president of the Association i was in charge of the arrangements, assisted by Patricia Moore, vice president and Alice Potvin Lo secretary-treasurer. ; The draw for the evening, a cance, was won by Mrs. Harriet Andrews. : Rosann Speziale, was honoured at a commun- ity shower, arranged in the Catholic Parish Centre on July 16th.
