MAY 26, 1977 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 21 CHIMO CLUB MEETING At the Chimo Club's meeting in Schreiber on May 20th, a moment's silence was observed in memory of the late Edmond Nicol and Harry Welbourne. : It was decided to invite Lionel Waghorn, th Terrace Bay druggist, to speak at the June meet -ing on drug substitution in medicines. Jack Stokes, MLA, will also be asked to speak. x Mrs. Etta Gray's application to become cus-- todian of the Club was accepted. The financial statements, and the New Hori- zon' statement were adopted as read by W.T. Wal- lace and Mrs. Bernice Jacomb. To mark Senior Citizens' Week, June 19 - 25, the Club will attend service in St. Andrew's United Church at 9:45 on June 19th. At their annual Club visit to Birchwood Home this year the dinner will be provided by the Chimo Club. The donation of a stove and dryer for the Club apartment from Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Holmes was gratefully accepted. . Norman McCuaig reported on renovations being] done in the upstairs of the Club - the purchase of a new sweeper for the Club and some re- decorating. The date of the Christmas bazaar was set for November 5th, with Beth Macadam and Winnie Campbell as co-conveners. The June meeting will start with a potluck supper. Mrs. Helen Wallace chaired the meeting with nineteen present. i Following the meeting a social evening was enjoyed, when winners at cards were Whist -- Inez McCuaig, high; Mavis Slater, low: Bridge - Joe Campbell, high; Anne Needham, low. Denis Neylon, Mrs. Kitty Corbett and Russell Macadam, brought prizes (to mark their birth- days) which were drawn. Mrs. Aili Lehto, of Sault Ste Marie, a former member, was welcomed as a guest, bring- ing with her Mrs. Lillian Parent. The floral arrangement, donated by Esther Birch, was won by Ann Needham.
