PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS MAY 11, 1977 SPEZIALE: The death"of the late Vincenzo Speziale, occurred in hospital on April 29th, 1977 after a brief illness. His funeral was conducted on May 2nd, in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Fr. Moore, assisted by Father Fujarczuk of Terrace Bay and Father Oliverio of White River. Prior to the church service the rosary was recited in the deceased's home in separate ceremonies by his family and the Catholic Wom- en's League. The honorary pallbearers were Cosimo V. Figliomeni, Cosimo D. Figliomeni, Cosimo G. Figliomeni, Joseph Figliomeni, Peter Speziale, Vincenzo Costa, Victorio Costa and Cosimo Crupi. Active bearers were Joseph Speziale, Donald Speziale, Denis Speziale, Tony Costa, Mark Trichilo and Gilles Levac. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Speziale's immediate survivors are his wife, Rita; three daughters, Francesca Rita (Mrs. Frank Labarre of Winnipeg), Rosa-Maria (Mrs. Gary Speck of Bruce Mines) and Maria Stella Speziale of Winnipeg; three sons, Cosimo Vincenzo, Theodore Joseph and Dino Antonio all of Schreiber; five brothers, Peter, Frank, Joseph and Anthony of Schreiber and Giovanni of Thunder Bay;, two sisters, Maria Costa and Teresa Trichilo of Schreiber; his mother, Mrs. Rita E: Speziale of Schreiber and six grandchildren. Mr. Speziale, who was fifty-three years old, was born in Siderno Marina, Italy and came to Schreiber with his parents when he was fifteen years old. He was employed with the Kimberly-Clark mill in Terrace Bay as a tradesman pipefitter. He was also a skilled carpenter, building his own home and at the time of his death build- ing the home of his son, Ted. Each year his very productive vegetable garden was the envy of his immediate neighbours. Among the many relatives and friends at- tending the service, from out of town, were: 'Mr. and Mrs. Frank Labarre and family, Miss Mary Speziale, of Winnipeg; Mr..and Mrs. Gary Speck and family of Bruce Mines; Mrs. Ted Jod- ouin of Sturgeon Falls; Mrs. Henri Levac, Jerry and Gilles Levac of Val Caron, Ontario; Mr. and Mrs. Gilles Roy and family of Quebec City; Father Oliverio and Mr. and Mrs. Reno Spadoni of White River; Mr. and Mrs. Giowanni Speziale and family, Mrs. Teresa Agostino, Mr. and Mrs. Joey Agostino, Mrs. Sarah Macchi, Mr. and Mrs. Andrea Favuzzi, Mr. and Mrs. Cos- imo Filgiomeni, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crupi, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fragomeni, Mr. and Mrs. Carlo ~ Commisso, Mrs. Mary Lou Commisso, Mrs. Melina Sgarbossa, Mrs. Concetta Serrao, Mrs. Teresa Santarossa, Mr. and Mrs. Cosimo Minella, Tony Minella, Pino Minella, Rico Minella, Tony Agost -ino, Cosimo Crupi, Cosimo Pellegrino, Dominic Pedulla and son, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Boisvert, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Crupi, Mr. and Mrs. Rol- and Camache, Vincent Gutta, Greg Morrill, Frank °* Commisso, all of Thunder Bay; Charley Simmer, Salt Lake City; and many from Terrace Bay. HIGHLIGHTS OF U.C.W. MAY 4TH MEETING At the May 4th meeting of the United Church Women, J. George Scott, in memory of his wife, Bessie, made a donation. It was gratefully received and will be used to purchase a new cloth for the communion table. A donation of $25.00 was made to the Bible Society. The Rev. Ralph Magee, will be here on May 31st to show films and give an address on the work of the Bible Society, and, members of the Catholic Women's League and the Anglic- an Church Women, are invited to attend this special meeting. The regular June lst meeting will be pre- ceded by a Chinese dinner in the church hall. It will be followed by pot-luck dessert and the regular business meeting. The dinner is to start at 6:30 p.m. with members wishing to attend to call Mrs. John Spillane on or before. May 28th. There will be a "fun penny auction" to which each member is asked to donate two prizes. .: The Léast -Coin collection was taken up. A dresser scarf, hand-embroidered by Nettie Thrower, long-time treasurer, was received and will be saved for the Christmas bazaar draw. A note of appreciation was sent to Mrs. Throw- er. . A letter of appreciation was received from the Official Board for the carpeting of the Church done by the U.C.W. Mrs. Beth Macadam presided for the meeting, with the minutes of the past meeting and the treasurer's report accepted as read by Margar- et Spillane and Gwen Hadley. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mis. Edgar Ray, of Schreiber axe pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Linda Marie to Ralph Regis, son of Mi. and Mus. AL Regis of Terrace Bay. The wedding will take place at St. Mar- ns Church, Terrace Bay on June 11, 1977.
