The results to ga date have been impressive. % SEARCH AND RESCUE UNIT REPORT = On Sunday, January 23rd, two men were re- 38 ported overdue on a cross-country snowmobile | trip, 15 miles northwest of this northshore community. The report was received late in the | day by the Schreiber-Terrace Search and Rescue | Unit. == Due to inclement weather and gathering dark-, ness no action was. possible until the follow- | ing day. The next morning an air search was initiated in the Cairngorm Lake area, using a helicopter provided by Kimberly-Clark of Ter- race Bay. Const. Garry Lapworth of the O.P.P. plus two members of the Schreiber-Terrace Search and Rescue Unit were on board the aircraft. The missing men were soon located near their abandoned snow machines on the shore of Cairn- gorm Lake. They were none the worse for wear after. their chilly night in the bush. The men reported that while on their trip they encoun- tered blizzard conditions and both machines ran out of fuel. Continued page 3 ..... = 4
