VOL. 20 NO. 3 JANUARY I9, I977 20¢ PER COPY TERRACE BAY TOWN COUNCIL INAUGURATION On Monday, January 10th, 1977 at the Terrace Bay Municipal Office the new Town Council made their declaration of Office and pledged their ) Oath of Allegiance. Rev. Brian Bigelow provided the Invocation. 4 In his Inaugural Address Reeve Brassard stated that the next two + Years would be important ones for Terrace Bay. He hoped to see repairs | to the Recreation Building which he advised was now twenty two years fd' old. Also high on his priority list were improvements to the Police Department Facility, a new fire truck for the Fire Department, paving of the streets of the Town, an upgrading of the Hydro Power and consid- eration of the new sub-division Terrace Heights. Reeve Brassard feels it is important that Terrace Bay encourage Commercial Development as much as possible. Ex-Reeve Cavanaugh attended the Inauguration to welcome and congrat- ulate the new Council. He also requested the consideration of Council 'of a problem that had been a major concern to him during his time on i Council. Mr. Cavanaugh had always wanted to see the road to the local J, Cemetery either improved or re-routed altogether. He declared that the road through the Industrial area is an eyesore and should either be cleaned up or a new route built. M Reeve Brassard thanked Rev. Bigelow for attending the Inauguration. Terrace Bay Town Council, A letter was read from Grant Puttock on behalf of Kimberly-Clark i" asking Council to consider the take over of the ownership of the Recrea- 5 tion Building. Cy Brassard, Reeve recommended that a date be set by {| Council for -a special meeting purely to discuss the matter. He felt the © decision was of such importance to the Town that such a meeting would be warranted. Councillors Peggy Helmink, George Ramsey, Peter Romanuk and Marge Hamilton agreed and arranged January 13th, at 7:00 b.m. Continued page 6 .....
