~ SWINE FLU CLINIC vSchteiber and Terrace Bay FeBLdents "showed up in full force Wednesday, December 8th to take advantage of the Swine Flu Clinic at Birchwood 'Terrace. © DANCE-A=THON: dia ; On December 10th and llth the Lake Superior Students-~Council (Schreiber Campus ) held a twelve hour dance-a-thon to help fund school jackets and rings for the students of +L. .SH.S. BEveryone including members of the student council felt this dance-a-thon went over very well. Eighteen couples started at 9:00 p.m. Friday night and all eighteen couples finished © - saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. 2 Mr. Cooper was our disc jockey from 9:00" p.m. Friday until 1:Q0 a.m. Saturday. Then A Nicki Figliomeni finished the dance-a-thon with members of the Student: 'council helping "him. During the dance-a-thon Mr. Handy announced ~ he would go home and get his guitar and sing = for us if he could raise $25.00 in pledges and 'would donate the pledges to the student coun- cil. "He raised this amount and sang for us. - Leslie Comeau also sang for us after-the tudent council collected $24.00 in pledges. Karen Zaporzan made the most money in twelve hours. Her total was $212.60. : Prizes will be distributed to all dancers who finished and to Karen Zaporzan, who made the most money. Classes resume on Monday, January 3rd. DR. J.E. THOMPSON: , Word was received by Lester McCuaig, his 3 brother-in-law, of the death of Dr. J.E. "Thomp- in Toronto on December 15, in his 87th. year. : : ' ; Dr. Thompson's immediate survivor is his wife, the former Otto McCuaig of Schreiber. ." Dr. Thompson, who served in both World War ° I and II, was a Life Member of the I.0.0.F. 'Schreiber Lodge, a Life Member of Shuniah Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Thunder Bay and a Life Mem ~ber of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons. Dr. Thompson spent practically all his many years of active practice in Schreiber and tri- butes: to his skill still exist in the town and in many other places. When he left Schreiber to retire, as he thought, he was promptly called to. service in the Toronto school system from which he retired. The funeral service was held on Thireday, December 16, in Turner and Porter York Chapel on Bloor St. onto. Dr. Thompson resided at 1098 Kipling Ave..
