DECEMBER 15, 1976 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT The Terrace Bay Police Force was called upen to investigate sixteen occurrences for the week of December 6th to 12th,' 1976. On Monday, December 6th at approximately 0750, a vehicle driven by Alfred Schoffer of Ranier Minn, was eastbound on Highway 17 in the vicinity of the Aguasabon Falls Road. This vehicle went out of control on the snow covered highway, spun around and struck the guide rail posts on the south side of the highway. Two guide rail posts were knocked out and the vehicle sustained damage in the amount of $500.00. On December 7th, one speeding ticket was issued and the driver charged under the High- way Traffic Act. On -Decempser 8th, officers on patrol 'observ- ed two young people hitch-hiking easterly on Highway 17. It was noted that these people , were clad only in light clothing and wearing running shoes. Since the temperatures had dropped to more than -30C, they were given shelter for the night and sent. on their way in the morning. : ; One case of common assault was investigated involving two juveniles. This matter was cleared with a caution being issued. One minor vehicle collision was investigat- ed on December 9th involving the department cruiser car. The cruiser was being backed out of a driveway on Hudson Drive and came into collision with a vehicle parked on Hudson Drive. This matter-is being settled through an insurance claim. : A fail to remain accident on December 10th 6n Hudson Drive is still under investigation. It appears that a vehicle yas backing out of a driveway 'and struck a parked vehicle. Dam- age is minor and amounted to approximately $50.00 : Bowling trophies which were stolen from the Moose Lodge approximately two years ago were returned to their rightful owners. During this period, three vehicles were'spot checked, Police assisted the Hospital staff on one occassion; one compassion message was de- livered, one premise was found insecure, one juvenile is being charged with making indecent telephone calls. cu Born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Figliomeni of Schreiber, a boy on December 10th.
