Net long-term liabilities Total long-term liabilities incurred by the municipality and outstanding at the end of the year amount to $232,350 Of the long-term liabilities shown above, the responsibility for payment of principal and interest charges has been assumed by others for a principal amount of 198,000 Net long-term liabilities at the end of the year $34,350 \ \ CONFIRMATION SERVICE PLANNED Father F.J. Meyer offered the opening and closing prayers at the regualr meeting of the Schreiber Catholic Women!s League on Septem--- ber 12, with Mrs. Lorette McParland presiding. The minutes of the last meeting and the treasurer's report were adopted as read by Mrs. Marion Henri and Mrs. Marjory Spacek respectively. Plans were discussed 'to mark the confirma- tion service for grades seven and eight at the 9:30 Mass on November 21, 1976. Mrs. McParland thanked all those whose work and donations had made the Labour Day Fair successful financially. Mrs. Gloria Mullins, Resolutions and Legis- lations Convener, reported the efforts being made to keep the local ice rink open, and con- tractors in town to have the streets paved and finish manholes. There was a discussion of local vandalism. Mrs. Kay Stefurak, Christian Family Life Convener, thanked Mrs. Mary Valentino for lay- ing the C.W.L. wreath at the Legion memorial service. "Brownie registration was held September 15 for seven to ten year olds, their meeting ev- ery Wednesday in the Parish Centre with Diane Figliomeni and Ruth Birch as leaders. 6. Contractual obligations Sewage works greenery The Township of Schreiber, with the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board has entered into an agreement with the Ministry of the Environment, whereby the Ministry is to provide and operate sewage treatment facilities within the Township. Under the terms of the agreement the commission will charge the Township a rate for sewage service which will be based on the cost of providing this service. The construction of the plant was completed in November 1975 and went into operation in February 1976. The installations of connections are presently in progress. In 1976 approximately $36, 000 will be paid to the Ministry of The Environment which is to be charged to the users. 7. Restatement of accumuiated net revenue and 1974 revenue and expenditure | The accumulated net revenue at the beginning of the year on the Statement of Revenue and Expenditure has been restated to give effect to the inclusion of the over levies for school board purposes and the accumulated net revenue of the Public Library Board and Rink Committee which are now consolidated. 7. Restatement of accumulated net revenue and 1974 revenue and expenditure continued The effect on the accumulated net revenue at the beginning of the year has been an aggregate increase of $7,794 over that reported in the 1974 Financial Report. The increase is made up of the following amounts: Deferred Revenue School Boards $ 931 Public Library Board, 2,560 Rink Committee 4,303 $71,794 8. Other As of August 1975 the ambulance service was no longer operated by the municipality. i ; Girl Guides were enrolled on September 16 - girls ten to 'fourteen years, their meeting to be held in Holy Angels Separate School, Wed- nesday nights, with Judy Cooper and Betty Ann Klassen as leaders. The Christmas bazaar was set for November, in the Town Hall with Mrs. Penny Caccamo to convene the draws and bazaar tables. Conven- ers for tea and kitchen will be named later, The Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. during the month of. October. Schreiber Branch will attend the C.W.L. regional meeting on October 13. Lunch was served following the meeting. Mrs. Eva Brown, of ¥ Trond r Bey, was + velco ed as a guest by Mrs. Anne Todesco, president, at the regular meeting of the Schreiber Women's Institute. Also present as guests, were Deb- bie Neelan and Val Tremblay to thank the Insti- tute for the scholarships presented to them last June. Members answered the roll by naming inter- ests they'd enjoyed since leaving school various crafts, taking part in and attending plays, and participating in the many projects which have benefited their town. .
