PAGE 16 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 16, 1976 COTE: The funeral of the late John Leon Arthur Cote, whose death occurred in hospital on June 3, was conducted in the King Funeral Home on June 5, under the auspices of the Roy-| al Canadian Legion Branch 109, with Father F.J. Meyer, leading in prayers. Prior to the religious service, the Legion conducted its burial service. The pall bearers were Bill Madge, Gordon Willoughby, Jack Moore, Ivan Martin, Neil Nes- bitt and Raoul Fournier. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Cote's immediate survivors are his brother, Raymond, of Espanola; cousins, Mrs. Norma Vescio, William Randa, Mrs. Joy Caron, Mrs. Barbara Payette, Mrs. Bev Weaver, Mrs. Diane Zvonar, Mrs. Velma Assad, Mr. Ron Lux- ton, Mr. Jim Luxton.and Mrs. Carol Curiston; his aunt, Mrs. Pearl Luxton and step-father, Charles Ewart. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Cote in 1964 and his mother in 1970. Mr. Cote, who was forty-four years old, was born in Nakina, but spent his teenage years in Schreiber during his secondary school education to grade 13. He was always known as "Mush" for some obscure reason, long for- gotten. Not a "joiner", except of the Legion, he supported every cause in the town by buy- ing tickéts for innumerable projects. First employed with the C.P.R. he was later employed with Kimberly Clark, Terrace Bay mill until he became ill. Among the relations and friends attending the funeral from out ot town were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cote, Espanola; Mrs. Bev Weaver, Eugene, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vescio, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Caron, Mr. and Mrs. John Zvonar, Ms. Shelley Vescio, Ms. Kelly Vescio, Thunder Bay; Mrs. Mike Walsh, Winnipeg; Charles Ewart, Mrs. Ed Assad, Mrs. Pearl Lux- ton, Ron Luxton, Jim Luxton, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Curiston, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olson, Mrs. Jean Ewart, and Alex Tweedie, of Geraldton; Edson Morrill, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Reg Payette, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Randa and many other friends from Terrace Bay.
