MAY I2, I976 20¢ PER COPY REGIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ELEMENTARY WOMEN TEACHERS ---- ---------- to -------------- 1 -- == The elementary women teachers of the North- west held their annual Regional Assembly in Marathon on Saturday, May I, I976. About sixty-five women representing: Atikokan, Dry- den, Fort Frances, Rainy River, Geraldton, Kenora, Thunder Bay, Nipigon---Red Rock and Red Lake met to discuss organizational matters and other areas of educational concern. Two provincial directors for the federation were elected: Mrs. Betty Hawke from Dryden and Mrs. Elvine Jardine from Fort Frances = Rainy River. Mr. Bill Pascoe, representing Marathon Town Council, briefly addressed the meeting at their luncheon held at the Legion Hall. The participants then returned to Marathon Public: School 'to wind up their business. It was decided to hold the I976 Annual Fall Conference of the Elementary Women Teachers in Nipigon with the Nipigon -- Red Rock ladies hosting this event. Also, Red Lake was chosen as the site for the I977 Regional Assembly with the Red Lake ladies hosting this.
