PAGE 4 TERRACE BAY NEWS MARCH 17, 1976 CROSS COUNTRY SKI CLINIC On Saturday, some cross country skiing enthusiasts attended the second part of a Cross Country Ski Clinic. It was a beautiful day with the clinic being held at the Aquasa- bon Golf course. The first part of the clinic was held in November, 75 but due to bad weather the in- structor, Jeff Kish of Thunder Bay only held the indoor lessons which included waxing and preparing ski equipment. On Saturday, March 6, 1976 Al Maddox of Thunder Bay, a C.S.A. Certified coach and Instructor with the Canadian Ski Association, working through the Confederation College's Continuing Education Department gave the out- door lessons. They were: the diagonal stride, double poling and double poling with a kick. The turns and uphill and down hill techniques were a real work out for all the participants. Both the men and women who entered had an ab- solutely marvellous day in the fresh air and sunshine. This succeeded in making a few spectators very envious and agreeing that Cross Country Skiing is treally "In" in North- western Ontario. A.W. DAMIS Forecast Period: March 21 to March 27 A disappointment blooms in full glory. Hoid on! There's a surprising twist! A mino: set- back will prove to be a major advantage in the long run. No question about it, those little expenditures are throwing your budget off balance. Avoid impulse buying. Begin, immediately, to im- prove your saving habits. Skip a "bargain." An event of the past winter will have strong overtones on this week's activities. The impor- tant thing is: Don't repeat past mistakes with the opposite sex. Don't let a friend of a friend involve you in their personal affairs. Becoming part of someone else's problems might be your down- fall, this week! ~ Don't rely on receiving help from an old friend. Remember, your absence has been the ingredient for his friend to become involved in other things. Mischief, this week, is on the march. It's highly probable that you'll be running up blind alleys--guided by half-truths and rumors. Try to avoid gossip. There are times when you'll over value one thing and ignore another. This week, however, the looser you are with a buck--the greater' will be the return. Strange, indeed! According to your chart, a strong personality will attempt to overpower you. Incidentally, you'll be in touch with someone who is up to financial mischief. Strange as it might sound, trivial things that happen during this cycle, occur once in a lifetime. Meaning? You have nothing to learn from the experience. Indecision, on the part of a superior, will cause you to hold back on a few of you own plans. In- cidentally, you might be a little unhappy about additional responsibilities. By now you will have been told...you're about as tameable as a fly. Furthermore, you'll get the feeling that someone is about to let you know. This week, your 'super-sensitive feeling" could be a drawback. It seems as though you'll take things too personal--in your job, task or project. glo ne ET)
