The 22nd Annual mother and daughter Girl Guide and Brownie Banquet was held at the Roy- al Canadian Legion Hall with 116 attending. The colours were presented and M.C.'s for the evening were Cadets, Carla Crockford and Diane Jones. ; Madame Commissioner, Marilyn Saranpaa wel- comed everyone and outlined the Guiding move- ment in Terrace Bay. Diane and Carla introduc -ed the Leaders of the five units and the Lo- cal Association to Guides and Brownies in Ter- race Bay. They then introduced guest Cub Leaders, Paulette Gordon and Wanda Aulenbach. A smorgasbord prepared by the mothers was served by the L.A. to the Royal Canadian Leg- ion Branch #223, who also donated all the des- serts, milk and hot drinks for everyone. This year the entertainment was on the theme "Olympics" with around the world songs, skits and dances. Working in the kitchen for the Legion Aux- iliary was Convenor, Adelaide Beaulieu and her committee of Lillian Belliveau, Dorothy Coupal, Bea St. Louis and Joan Young. Awards presented were: Brownie of the Year, Pack 1 - Penny Luke presented by Tawny Owl, Barbara Lalonde; Brownie of the Year, Pack 2 - Karen Anderson presented by Brown Owl, Bar- bara Wise; Guide of the Year - Tracey Stachiw presented by Pam Jones. The highlight of the evening was Cathy Geldreich presenting "All Round Cords" to Anne Crockford, Maureen Pytyck and Tracey Stachiw with the three mothers as- sisting. Three young Brownies presented a blue carnation to each girl on behalf of the Girl Guides of Canada, Aquasabon District. Madame Commissioner, Marilyn Saranpaa present- ed Barbara Wise with her Brown Owl's pin. RALLY DAY: Cont'd Attending from Terrace Bay. and participa- ting were Helen Almos, Recorder; Sadie Benko, G. Grad. Regent; Yvonne Leclair, Guide; Alma Hart, Sr. Regent. Also attending were Yvonne Vienneau and Dannielle Salesse. Myrna McCuaig joined the women in Thunder Bay.
