WINTER CARNIVAL COMMITTEE MEETING The Winter Carnival Committee held a meet- ing in the Conference Room of the Recreation Center on Thursday, February 5, 1976. Many new representatives attended from more organ- izations in town. Claire Roen chaired the meeting. Plans were finalized for the King and Queen contest. Committee 'groups are asked to sponsor a king (and, or) queen. It was noted that a Street can enter either a king or Queen or any individual can put an entry in by contacting any member of the Winter Carni- val Committee. This year the winner will be chosen on a points system. Individual events are to be set up by the planning committee to run throughout the whole of the Winter Carni- val. Points will be awarded for attendance and participation at all events. The Loyal Order of Moose will be holding a Winter Carnival dance. x The next planning meeting will be held ae 8 7:00 p.m. on February 12 in the Conference Room, followed by an open Winter Carnival meeting at 8:15 p.m. The committee hopes to see even more people at this meeting, as ideas are coming in and a temporary time schedule will be set up. This | is important and both the committee and organ -izations and groups will benefit from a time schedule. The Terrace Bay Band will be in attendance at various times during the Carnival. ASSOCIATION TO GUIDES & BROWNIES MEETING The Local Association to Guides and Brown- ies held their regular monthly meeting in the Community Church basement with only eight members present. ; Mrs. R. McBride chaired the meeting open- ing with the Guide prayer. A special thank you was extended to the a mothers who made and donated the lovely var- iety of cookies for the carolers at the Home 2 for the Aged. ; The Licorice Allsorts Blitz was a success. Thanks to all who supported it. = Plans were finalized for the up coming wh Mother and Daughter banquet. All mothers willl be asked to bring a casserole or salad. It will be catered to by the Auxiliary to our he] local Legion on Feb. 19th at the Legion Hall. B Local Association members who have no children" in the movement are welcomed to the banquet.
