She was predeceased by her husband, Edward cerow in 1972, a son, Corp. Leslie Gerow, kil- led in action with the Canadian Army iniHoll- ard in 1944 and a daughter, Doris, Mrs. Perry Reveon in 1972. Mrs. Gerow, who was 85 years old was born in Heron Bay but spent most of her life in Sch= reiber. RE: MOTORIZED SNOW VEHICLE ACT : To clarify some points dealing with the Mc torized Snow Vehicles Act, the following is, for the information of all owners of Motorizea , Snow Vehicles. All motorized snow vehicles must obtain a registration permit from a local issuer of permits even though the motorized snow vehicle may have been previously regist- 2 ered. There is no fee for this permit. If the motorized snow vehicle is to be operated within a city, town or village or closer than five miles from a Highway or secondary High- way you must pay the $10.00 fee to have your registration permit validated. In our area this would mean that almost all motorized snow vehicle permits would be sub- ject to the validation fee. If you feel your machine may be exempt from the validation fee, please call the 0.P.P. for clarification. Section 17 of the act states as follows: quote; --- "No person shall drive a motorized snow vehicle or ride on a motorized snow veh- jicle or on a cutter, toboggan, sled or similar conveyance towed by a motorized snow vehicle on a serviced roadway or public trail unless he/she is wearing a helmet that complies with the regulations." Serviced roadway is that part of a highway used for vehicle traffic and includes the shoulders. Section 22(1) of the act is the penalty sec -tion for trespassing, quote - "Every person who knowingly or unknowingly trespasses on land while operating a motorized snow vehicle 'is guilty of an offence and on summary conviction is liable to a fine not exceeding $500.00
