Small, Superinte- ndant; Joe Tees, Assisstant Superintendant and Gordon Lark, Chief Dispatcher were pres- ent to offer congratulations when Pont booked in. In addition to the homely virtues of being a good friend and a good neighbor, Pont has given eight years service to the town as mun- icipal counsellor, and been a constant suppo- rter and worker in St. Andrew's Church. A dinner in Pont's honour, attended by his family and immediate relations was given in the Restaurant LeBlanc, and during the even--- ing some 75 friends called at his home to of- fer congratulations. In addition to many pe- rsonal gifts Pont received a set of golf clu- bs from his family and a set of matched lug- gage from relatives in eastern Ontario. Attending the happy occasion, from out of town were Dr. Jack Gordon, a brother and Mrs. Gordon from Minneapolis; Mr. Jack Johnson, a cousin and Mrs. Johnson, from Edinburgh, Sc- otland. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon intend to maintain, their home in Schreiber but take several trips] they've been planning for some time- and for them - now's the time. SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL INITIATION: Heads rolled in all directions as Igor, the Hatchet Man plied his gruesome trade at the Lake Superior High School Kangaroc Court whi- ch always follows the days of initiation. Tubs of cold water were used lavishly and a most unfair boxing match between opponents with some three feet difference in height was held. A most relectant groom was married to an eager bride. Several of the teaching staff took part in the fun, staging skits of their own. Mrs. Anastasia (Annie) LeBlanc, formerly of Schreiber, now in Pinewood Court had many of her family visit her to mark her 84th birth- day recently. Among those paying affection- ate respect were Mr. and Mrs. Edgar LeBlanc, with daughter Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Le- Blanc, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Santerre, with dau- ghter Marcia and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Davis of Schreiber.
