Chairman of the The Kinsmen Club of Terrace Bay sponsored the visit of the C.N.I.B. Mobile Van in Ter- race Bay on October 6th, 7th and 8th. Staff of the C.N.I.B. were very impressed with the response of appointments made for the three day visit. A total of 86 people from Terr- ace Bay and Schreiber took advantage of the free service. This is the second year in a row that the Kinsmen Club of Terrace Bay have sponsored the C.N.I.B. and it is obvious to note that they will continue to sponsor the C.N.I.B. if the need in the two communities warrants it. In addition to sponsoring the C.N.I.B. the Kinsmen Club of Terrace Bay also made a don- ation continued: page 2.« viii sive TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES - The regular meeting of Terrace Bay Town- ship Council was held Tuesday, October 7th in Council Chambers. " The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted. Correspondence read was: a letter from R.T. Yates re request for rate increase in con- tract price of garbage collection and landfill site. An increase was granted. A letter from John Mason requested Council and the Police Department to enter into nego- tiations. Negotiations will begin October IO. A request for a school bus loading zone on Hudson Drive from the Lake Superior Board of Education will be discussed further. = Notice was received from the Ministry of Social Services of a workshop to be held in Thunder Bay on October 3Ist. A letter from Kimberly Clark re the access road - Hydro Plant stated they would not tran- sfer the road title to the Township of Terr- ace Bay. On application for meter reading, Mrs. Beth Bell was hired. : The Building Inspector's report for Septem- ber was read. Under new business accounts passed for pay- ment were: Township $I53,22I.05; Hydro $26, 875.19; Library $950.80; Recreation $I0,005. 37, Council will send an employee for a basic sewage treatment operation course under the direction of the Ministry of the Environrent. , Councillor Hale reported plans are under- way for an annex to the arena for the tractor and ice shaving machine. He also reported negotiations are present- ly underway with the Curling Club. Preparations will also be made for the Annual Christmas party sponsored by Council.
