PAGE 12 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 8, 1975 LEGAULT - MCPARLAND VOWS EXCHANGED On Friday evening, August 22nd, 1975 at 7:00 p.m. Laura Margaret Ann McParland, daugh- ter of Lorette & Harold McParland, Schreiber, was united in marriage by Rev. Roy McParland, uncle of the Bride, in a double ring ceremony to Leo Lester Legault of Terrace Bay, Ontario, the eldest san of Doris & Lester Legault, Te- rrace Bay, Ontario. Given in marriage by her father, Laura wore a floor length white wedding gown of nylon, featuring a square ruffled and lace neckling, long sheer fitted sleeves trimmed with lace and a lace waist, with the skirt being the full princess style. A border of lace lined the bottom of the gown and her long floor len- gth veil was also edged with lace which fell over the train. She wore a wreath styled hea- dpiece centered with teardrop pearls. The Bride wore a pearl necklace and her- bouquet was a cascade of Orange Ice Roses and Baby's Breath encircled with white tulle and white trailing ribbons. Matron of Honour was Miss Diane Huard of Sault Ste Marie, a life long friend of the Bride. Diane's princess style dress was a fl- owered-print on mint green nylon crepe with upper sleeves gathered and tappered down the arm. The gown was floor length with a high neck collar. She carried a nosegay of yellow daisies with a green centre and trailing yel- low ribbons. She wore a drooping white hat with a mint green ribbon attached to the side. The Bridesmaid, sister of the Bride, was Miss Susan McParland of Schreiber. She was identically dressed, but in a melon colour gown and a melon colour ribbon on the side of her hat. She carried a nosegay of white dai- sies with a yellow centre and trailing white ribbons. The Junior Bridesmaids, Youngest sisters of the Bride, both dressed identical to the Brid- esmaid in a melon colour gown with little whi- te flowers scattered in their hair. Both si- ters carried a basket of fxuit and daisies. Music in the Church was played by Ted Ross of Schreiber and Mrs. Rod Larson of Terrace Bay sang. The Bestman was Jim Corrigan of Terrace Bay and the ushers were Jim McParland, brother of the Bride, and John Legault, brother of the Groom. The Groom, bestman and ushers were all at- tired in black pants and white tuxedos with black velvet lapels and bow ties. The white shirts were enchanted with black. TUEEles, and each wore a ice-orange carnation. The Bride's Mother, Lorette McParland, wore a floor length long sleeved gown of printed nylon. She wore a yellow carnation. The Groom's Mother, Doris Legault, wore a floor length sleeveless gown of coral polyes- ter with a matching jacket. She wore a white carnation. A reception was held immediately following the Wedding Ceremony at the Schreiber Town Hall. Dancing was enjoyed to the music of the Commisso Brothers Band. The Bride's going a- way outfit was a rust silk blouse with a mat- ching long skirt. The Groom wore a green and rust plaid suit coat with co-ordinating rust pants. Out of town guests were from Thunder Bay, Rossport, Terrace Bay, Sault Ste Marie, Angus, and Burlington, Ontario.- The couple resides in Schreiber. = A wedding rehearsal party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Legault, Groom's parents, prior to the wedding. The Bride was honoured at a Community Sho- wer Tea on August 9th, 1975 in the Anglican Church Hall. She was assisted in receiving by her mother, Mrs. Harold McParland, her mother-in-law, Mrs. Lester Legault, Matron of Honour, Miss Diane Huard, Bridesmaid, Miss Su- san McParland. Mes. Bill Mullins was dining room hostess. Misses Donna McGrath, July Par- ent, Maureen McParland, Cathy Mulligan, Pat- ricia McGrath, Shelia Power and Gatena Chic- oine served. Mesdames Denis Connelly, Alex Power, Michael McGrath replenished.
