SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mrs. Ella MacDonald of Toronto, Mrs. Betty McBride of Scarborough and Miss Muriel Long= bone of Essex, England visited Mr. and Mrs. L.R. McCuaig last week. : Leslie Comeau, Don and Brent Mills have returned home after taking courses at the Legion's Peace Gardens project in Manitoba. They were sponsored by Branch I09. Leslie and Don trained in track and field and Brent in Wilderness program. Mrs. Barbara Ann McLau ghlan was in charge of the trials in Schreiber. Paul Caccamo of Waterloo University is home for holidays with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Gin -0 Caccamo, bringing with him Clover Dukes of Mount Forest. : Jean Paul Tessier, of Brockville was in Schreiber recently, to get in some fishing back North and enjoy a round of visits with former students. Surprisingly the students were older people who'd enjoyed a course of Conversational French, taught by Mr. Tessier Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bourre and daughter ~ Tiffany of Dryden visited Mr. and Mrs. Wes- we ley Clemens and on their return home the Clemens with Miss Edith Clemens accompanied them as far as Thunder Bay where they attend- ed the wedding of Cathy Miller, .-a niece and 4 Jim Roberts. ] Mrs. Chal McCuaig of Atikokan and Mrs. } Alex McCuaig of Toronto with Katie and Christina are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig. WOMEN OF THE MOOSE NEWS The chapter night meeting of the Women of the Moose Chapter I426 was held on August 6 with Senior Regent Alma MacDonald presiding. Balloting took place on three new members with enrollment to be held at another meet- ing. f Minutes of the previous meeting were adopt ~ed as read. Thank you card was received from Paul Malashewski. A picnic is to be held at Rainbow Falls on Sunday, August I7th for Moose members and their families. Gifts were presented to Marjorie Goodmur- phy with best wishes from all co-workers at her new home in Emo, Ontario. Lovely lunch was served by Star Recorder Chairman Sadie Benko and her committee of Minnie Woodruff and Linda Vezina. The raff- le was won by Linda Vezina. The next meeting to be held on September 3rd with Jean Pinkerton and her committee being in charge of the programme. ---- Congratulations to Ken Hanley of Terrace Bay on winning the Marathon Open Golf Champ- ionship in Marathon last weekend. Ken was victorious after a sudden death play.
