The tournament is scheduled to be held this coming Saturday and Sunday, Aug- ust 23rd and 24th, and those who wish to par- ticipate should drop in to the Recreation Off=- ice with their registration fee of $3.00 for non-Recreation members and $I.50 for members. There are two age categories = I6 years and over and I5 years and under. Why not show your interest by registering for this tournament. TERRACE BAY SWIM TEAM CAPTURES MUELLER TROPHY FOR FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW! This past Saturday, August I6th, the I975 Summer Aquatics Meet was held at the Terrace Bay pool. Communities that participated were as follows: Manitouwadge, Red Rock, Marathon and Terrace Bay. Results of the aquatics meet are as follows: Competitive Swimming - Terrace Bay 404 points; Red Rock 259 points; Marathon 207 points; Man- itouwadge I3I points - Terrace Bay winner of Mueller Trophy. Team Points - Overall girls team - winner Terrace Bay; Overall boys team - winner Red Rock. Diving - Terrace Bay 37 points; Red Rock 25 points. J synchronized Swimming - winner Red Rock Water Polo - winner Marathon Congratulations to Kathy Buckley, Nancy Bouchard and Carol Bouchard for their fine work in developing the swim team. Also, many thanks to all the local people who volunteered their time to act as officials for the meet. This particular programme was sponsored by the Ontario Aquatics Programme and the Terrace Bay Recreation Department. LOCAL INITIATIVE PROGRAMME 1975-76 ~ FORMS AVAILABLE AT RECREATION OFFICE: Anyone in Terrace Bay who may-be interested in getting more information on the LIP program for this year can drop down to the Recreation Office to pick up an information: sheet and application form. Deadline date for LIP this year is September I2th. 'SUMMER PLAYGROUND I975: Playground will be soon coming to a close but everyone is welcome to our final week of activities. Last weekend an overnight camp-out was en- joyed by the I0-I2 year old girls. On Saturd- day night, we set out for Rainbow Falls Pro- vincial Park. We were half-way through pitch -ing the tents when it started to rain but we struggled through it and spent a peaceful night. The next day, a hike to the swimming beach and the falls took up most of the morn- ing. We would like to thank all of those who provided transportation and those who helped us pitch the tents in the rain. On Friday night, a Pre-teen Greaser Dance was held at the Public School gym. By a popular vote of the loudest applause, whist--- ling and yelling, Joe Kennedy was the best greaser. Donnie Bougie won the door prize. The spot dance was won by Charlene Yates and Donnie Bougie. The 7-9 year olds tried their hands at making jam on Friday. After an hour of stren -uous blueberry picking, we combined our berr- ies in one big pot and made a batch of blue- berry jam. Everyone enjoyed themselves and were delighted to take some of the jam home. Parents and families of those who attend the Playground are invited to the Playground wind-up to be held Saturday, August 23rd.
