' Receiving with her were her fiance's mother Mrs. Elton Fummerton, her mother Mrs. J.R. Smith and Miss Janet Lengyel. 3 Tea pourers were Mrs. G.A. Scott, aunt of the groom, Mrs. Wallace Richardson, Mrs. Will- iam Whent and Mrs. Nelson Smith, aunt and grandmother of the bride. The servitors were the Misses Valerie Stor- tini, Michelle Stortini, Debbie McCanna, Linda Huard, Judy Lengyel, Pam Winters, Judy Davis and Mrs. Mark Santerre. Replenishing were Mesdames Roland Stortini, Arnold Stortini, David Sitko, Stanley Spadoni and Miss Debbie Cook. The gifts were opened by Miss Darlene Fumm- erton and Miss Debbie Cook and the guest book attended by Susan Smith. Brad and Tracy Wainikka of Winnipeg visited their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gerow and are now with their other set - Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wainikka in Thunder Bay. Mrs. Chal McCuaig of Atikokan is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig. RECREATION: Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee have had a most successful summer program. Committee members are Flora Bryson, Lorraine Huard, Marlene Doig, Heather vandergraaf, Dorig Gauthier, Bill Collinson, Joe King, Tom McGr- ath, Geoff Lee, Tom Quinton and Peter Speziale with Susan Johnson as director. The favorable weather increased the swim classes to I06 with regular lessons each week- day. Linda Fraser, chief instructor and Myrna Gauthier were on lifeguard duty each weekday. Other instructors were Donna Gellert, Barbara Huard, Cindy McKay and Janice Martin. There are no absentees in Junior Theatre and Reading Activities group, carried on at' the public school mornings and afternoons. The instructors Norah and Nancy McGuire, Cathy Maggio and Karen Lamoureux have so sparked the children's interest in ages from 4 to I3 that in a few years Schreiber may again have a Drama Club. So far the children have played using props from a wide variety of donated odds and ends, the Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the Princess Who Could- n't Laugh. The eight miles cut on the North Superior Hike Trail was an achievement indeed, under the leadership of Tom McGrath who is not only 'at home' in the bush, but a skilled photo- grapher. Outdoor skills and survival are being taught at White Sand Lake by Randy Lelly, Paulette Perras, Donna Mikeluk and Cathy Cook. The program including map and compass reading survival techniques, canoeing. They have made overnight trips to Long Arm and Lynn Lakes, a four day journey up the Gravel River and are ,presently on a ten day trip in Quet- ico Park. Other activities include a gymnastic clinic planned for August 20th, basketball taught by Wayne Tremblay, a course in photography by Ron Chicoine and a lot of fun being had by young adults in evening sessions in the pable ic school gymn. Another group, ages 4 - I4 are doing a lot . of hiking in connection with a playground pro- gram - seeing local spots of interest, the ( Schreiber Falls, the Tower, the new dam, and now planning a trip to the Nor-Shore mine. | i In addition to hiking the children are learn- ing tie-dying, painting and various other crafts. { Donna McGrath, Jocelyn Guillet, Anne Baile and Jim McGrath are the instructors for this \ program.
