Those present at the dinner were Mrs. Anne Todesco, Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Kenny of Rossport, Arthur Paradise, Dan Paradise and Jimmie Bikakis of Sioux City, and George Para- dise Jr. of Hastings, Neb. Thursday from ten a.m. to three p.m. a meet- ing was held in the Community Hall of Rossport by the members of the Pays Plat Indian Band when they met with several officials from the Lakehead to discuss housing at the reserve, the building and financing the Snowshoe Factory, the building of a community center and hall and the funding of same. Chief Gerry Bouchard presided and Edna Wannikamik was secretary. The Chief reported that the logs are cut and peeled and stacked for drying to build the log hall. The archi- tects plans for the hall were viewed and dis- cussed. They planned to complete the basement for fall so that the snowshoe operation can get started thus supplying winter work for the mem- bers of the tribe. The upper floor will have a large assembly hall, kitchen, washrooms, into about $I50,000. A discussion was held on the septic tank and field system and supp- I lying water to the building. Mrs. Gloria Miller with her ten and three quarter pound lake trout caught right in the Rossport Harbour - not far from shore and docks. People ashore at docks and verandas heard the excited exclamations made by Mrs. Miller, companions and guide Ray Kenney - this is one of the largest fish caught in the harbour for years. 'Photo by A.
