One's first education is in one's home and some of the values learned there are establish~- ed for life. The teacher's role, is exactly that - to teach; to build and shape, not cram in similar 'boxes', but, in as much as they are able, to develop personalty, to minimize weakness and build on strength; to consider changes - are they necessary and what will they accomplish and if important, to learn how to negotiate for them. Goals should be set high - too low a one, although achieved may not be satisfying. ; One should learn to balance work with relax- ation and to ask for and profit by advice, by which knowledge, skill and competence can be acquired. Born in Italy he came to Canada in 1928, moving directly to Jackfish to work with the CPR. : Married Celia Falzetta in I933 and moved to Schreiber in I963. Retired from the CPR in 1973. Surviving Mr. Valentino is his wife Celia, sons Aldo of Schreiber, Albert of Manitouwadge Neil of Kenora, daughters Dolores (Mrs. Rod O'Conner) and Joyce (Mrs. John Jarosz) Schrei- ber. Nine grandchildren and two brothers in Italy also survive. : Resting at the King Funeral Home, Schreiber from 2 p.m. Tuesday. Requium Mass Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church.
