PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 4, I975 TERRACE BAY COUNCIL APPROVES I975 MILL RATES Residential taxpayers will be paying app- roximately 23% more taxes in I975 if a public school supporter and approximately I9% if a separate school supporter. A lesser increase of I4% and I0% for commercial taxpayers public and separate will apply. A slightly higher percentage increase will prevail on properties outside of the townsite area - residential 29% and commercial I8%. The higher percentage increase to residen- tial properties is, in part, attributable to a newly introduced provincial formula for computing the mill rate differential between commercial and residential properties so that across the entire province residential rates for general municipal purposes will be 85% of commercial rates. To calculate taxes you multiply your prop- erty assessment by the applicable mill rate. I975 Mill Rates Townsite Area Public School Supporter Res.
