I saw it outside the Police Station and thought that the Chief had had his own bus shipped over, 'and being English too I was soon invited in to see it, and to meet the owners. What an interesting day I had with Georgie Roy-Clarke and her husband David. First was a tour through the bus with the school children, and Georgie had a volume of questions to answer from them. It was a de- light to be there and to hear all the strange and wonderful tales about the hundreds of souveniers that she and David had collected on their travels. What caught the childrens eye were the 30I police patches and badges that adorned all the interior at the entrance of the 'Mobile Home! as it now is. Georgie laughed when she told of all the times she had been in Police Sta- tions. She said that they had to more or less check in with the police in the towns they were stopping in because of parking laws and continued page 2 ®eeveccessncae TERRACE BAY COUNCIL QUOTES Councillors Helmink and Kennedy with Reeve Roy Bray were present to hold the May 28th regular meeting of Township Council. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. : : Correspondence included: From Nipigon Legion requesting permission to sell fish derby tickets. Permission Granted. From Forrest Notwell and John Mason re moving ex- penses. Council agreed to reimburse Mr. Mas- . on up to $450.00 for his move but Mr. Notwell being under a private business was not granted reimbursement. Chief Barnett and Constable Pope both wrote outlining the details re use of firearm at the beach on May 8th. These explanations were accepted by Council. The Lake Superior Board of Education wrote outlining the I975 school requirements re shar -ing ratio for Terrace Bay. The Kinsmen Club of Terrace Bay were grant- ed financial assistance in the amount of $300. for the treats and races during Canada Week. Tom Falzetta applied for and was hired as Dog Catcher. The Boy Scouts were granted permission to hold a bakeless bake sale. Under new business Council set the Mill Rates for I975 (see this issue for press re- lease). : The draft re: "Parking" by-law was held until more councillors could be present. Under new business Councillor Helmink re- ceived permission for Police Chief Dave Barn- ett to attend the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Meeting in Red Rock on May 30th. Hydro rate increase was discussed and will be increased. (see this issue for release).
