PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 4, 1975 THE McCAUSLAND HOSPITAL "QUOTES" The meeting of the Board of Governors of the McCausland Hospital was held May 20, 1975 in Schreiber High School Campus. The part time housekeeper supervisor was given additional hours to work in order that she may accom- plish a better job. The Policy on admissions and treatment of U.S.A. citizens and out-of-province residents was left for discussion at our May 31, 1975 seminar which is to be held in Terrace Bay. Applications from Dr. Croll, Dr. Spacek and Dr. Wilkes have been received for operating privileges at the Hospital. These applications will be processed through our Chief of Staff, Dr. A.B. Adey at once. Wm. Houston, Treasurer, presented the Operating Re- port as of March 31/75 to the Board. A license fo operate a laboratory as of July 1/75 was to be looked into by the Administrator. The Public Relations Committee reported that instead of having thermometers for the fund raising drive to show the amount of money raised a clown would be used, with a round ball in each hand showing the amount raised in one hand and in the other hand the amount that Kimberly Clark has donated. These two clowns, 8' high were fo be put in the banks in Terrace Bay and Schreiber. Mr. B. McCracken advised on negotiations with the Ontario Nurses Association and mentioned the fact that a memorandum of settlement had been reach- ed at the local level. The Property Committee report was put forth by Chairman, R. Wills. The door to the X-Ray had been enlarged and a kick-stand had been ordered for the door. All items for the lab and renovations had been ordered. A letter was received from the Township of Terrace Bay stating that Mr. R. Bray was the representative to the Hospital Board from Terrace Bay for the year DANCE at the Legion Hall TERRACE BAY SATURDAY, JUNE 14TH 9pm -- 1am. Another letter was received from Lang, Michner, etc., Barristers Solicitors, stafing the change in name of the hospital was now final . Accounts payable and payroll in the amount of $36,798.36 were passed for payment. A letter of resignation was read to the Board from B. McCracken who will be leaving Schreiber at the end of the school year in June. Shawn Kirkpatrick, his successor was officially welcomed. Mrs. McAdam reported that the Chamber of Comm- erce of Terrace Bay are to be contacted if we need help of any kind at this time. Wm. Houston also re- ported that the Kinsmen of Terrace Bay were ready to brush out the area where the new hospital is to go. Date of the next meeting was set for June 17/75 in Terrace Bay. Niagara College held two convocation ceremon- ies this year for its 1975 graduating class. On Saturday, May 24th, the College held ceremonies for its Schools of Applied Arts, Business and App- lied Science and Technology and on July 26th for its nursing and health science graduates. Graduating under Law and Security Administra- tion was Eras Rhoda Gorman from Terrace Bay MAINTENANGE - GARETAKER Required by the Terrace Bay Recreation " Department.
