Dale is the manager of the Lake Superior operations. He and his wife Nancy purchased Bert Lohr's home in Terrace Bay. Both Dale and Nancy and their four children have a love of the outdoors and enjoy Northern Ontario and especially the winter sports, skiing, skating and snow machining through the miles of beautiful trails that can be found around Terrace Bay which is known as the Gem of the North Shore. Nancy operated the office and Dale along with Rudy Samp (a proposed direc- tor of the Lakeshore operations) run the Cable system. Airland believe that they have a tremend- cus future ahead of them in Northwestern On- tario and have already installed and ccmplet- ed a cable system in Nipigon, plus renewing existing cables throught their operation at the all round cost of $55,000. They are out to better their system even more by setting up Microwave. Dale has been in close contact with Mr. Geoff Conway who is heading up a Microwave Study for Sudbury and Timmins. crowave can Serve any community over I,000 pupulation or 300 households at a rate which is both reasonable and just. Airland hope to get their subscribers a Television selection of decent quality that will be equal to any in Ohtario. With the co-operation of the Provincial Government, Federal Government, O.E.C.A., French, Global and T.V. networks and all cable companies in Ontario a Microwave System could serve the Province as a whole, making the system financially feasible. Here are two pretty teenagers doing a great job on the garbage truck. Marlene Yates has been truck driving since 1972 for R.T. Yates General Contractors, and her daughter Shirley, I6 years also helps part time too. Mona Caron, I8 years and Tara Greenwood I7 years have a great time hauling the cans around. When they were asked why they chose this job, they said there was- n't too much work around Terrace Bay for them so they thought they would try this. With Marlene as their boss everything is fine. Everyone will -be thinking - do they get jokes thrown at them about it. The answer is pes "yes", but its all in fun, and as for women on a Garbage Truck they answered "Why Not!"
