O'Brien age 60 years of Schreiber who died on January IIth at II a.m. in Holy Angel's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Meyer officiat- ing. Interment was in Schreiber Cemetery. Prayers were said in the Funeral Home Friday evening. Mr. O'Brien was predeceased by his wife the late Beatrice McBride in Jan- vary I973. He is survived by two sons Patr- ick at home and Russell of Red Lake, five daughters, Catherine (Mrs. N. Lemieux) Schrei- ber, Carol (Mrs. D. McDonald) Markstay; Lenore (Mrs. B. Duncan) Wawa, Sharon (Mrs. S. Lif) @& Cochenour and Mary Lynn at home. Also surviv= ing are I3 grandchildren, two brothers Thomas John of Sturgeon Falls and Sylvester of Chap- eau, Que. and four sisters Madeline O'Brien, Mary (Mrs. C. Gleeson) and Beatrice (Mrs. A. | Jones) all of Pembroke and Ann (Mrs. J. Marco= tte) Chichester, Que., as well as several oth- er relatives in the district. . The honorary pallbearers were Charles Boon, Darcy McGuire, Frank Driscoll, Austin Cos= grove, William Mullins and George A. Scott. Active pallbearers included Harry Duggan, John Paske, Tom Webb, George J. Scott, Clar- ence McBride and Lorne McBride. : Among those attending from out of town be- sides the immediate family .were Mrs. B. Hass, Hamilton; Mr. and Mrs. J. Paske and Mr. and Mrs. Theo Ryan of Thunder Bay; Mr.-C. Gleeson, Pembroke; Mr. and Mrs. L. McBride and children, Mr. and Mrs. B. McBride of Terrace Bay; Mr. 4 and Mrs. C. McBride and Judy of White River. oe ean whi wn SCHREIBER WOMEN'S INSTITUTE NEWS Mrs. Anne Todesco presided at the regular | meeting of the Schreiber Women's Institute on January I4th. After opening exercises members answered the roll call with a New Year's res-- olution and had a lively discussion on current events. Some matters were the planned Tele- thon for Cystic Fibrosis, rise of freight rates, cabinet shuffle in Ontario government and the edible qualities of Mexican jumping beans. Mrs. John Morris gave the financial report and Mrs. J. Campbell had sent many cheer car- ds and Christmas cards to the sick and shut- ins.
